So.... was Taylor the only one who did soft swinging? I feel like with the Fruity Pebbles thing (lol), a lot of stuff is very vague. Or does more come out? I'm having a lazy day over here so will probably finish today, I'm only four episodes in.
Also, they keep saying soft swinging, but like...every reference (even the vague ones) are definitely just like...swinging, lol.

I'm only on episode 6 but I feel like there was so much emphasis on the swinging and yeah, they're really not telling us anything, lol.
I didn’t make it much past the intro, so maybe I would think of it differently if I watched more.
I feel like they’re making a mockery of their religion and celebrating all of the ways that they DON’T adhere to their religious teachings…while using the name and religion to make a ton of money and still claiming to be a part of it, likely only because it serves them financially.
It’s a bunch of people looking to get their 15 minutes of fame and $$$ by showing just how “bad” they are. Which is fine…I just am not their target audience.

I started episode one somehow thinking it was a documentary. I barely finished the first episode, and won't watch anymore because it's really not my thing (I watch very few reality shows, and none of them are the high drama ones, except maybe sister wives, and I hate that I watch that one!) I had no clue who/what any of it was all about.
Now, had it been a documentary about how these mormon moms got popular with "mom-tok", the seedy underside, secrets, and how it all went down, I would have been all over that.
The mental gymnastics for the sake of religion is WILD.
Zac is terrifying to look at.
I love the honesty in the staged scenes, LOL.
Mayci is the only one with a brain.
When do the children get parented?
Whitney is at best self-centered and at worst a narcissist.
Their brand deals must love this show.
I cannot imagine staying in these marriages if I was the breadwinner. Like...for what?
Taylor is too dumb to not say the quiet parts out loud but I love her bc she's like a dumb dog?
10/10-- loved this show.
I followed Mayci way before any of this. I recognized her on tiktok after I read her entire blog. Her history is a crazy story. I actually really like her! The others, I can't deal with. I have been loving the show though!

I was raised Mormon (left at 18) and thought it would be an interesting watch but I couldn't do it! I think I made it 3 or 4 episodes in. I feel like the Mormon church I grew up in would've excommunicated them. To be fair, I can't really get into any reality TV LOL.

I agree with the excommunication part. My father’s side of the family is Mormon and my mother converted and my older sisters were baptized as Mormon, but when my parents divorced in the early nineties, they were excommunicated.
I haven’t watched it because is gives me second hand embarrassment to watch this type of stuff.
Whitney's hair went from being really long to mid/short in the next episode and no one said anything like ‘oh cute hair’. Taylor went from having a miscarriage to almost 9 months pregnant. Production should have explained the gap in filming since it was so obvious.
If you think about it as a rumination on the male gaze, patriarchal culture, and the rise of alternative careers through social media, it's fascinating.

After the last episode, I did get more of a sense that at least a few of the women (Demi, Jessi, Mayci) were doing this to show the dangers of following the strict tenets of the religion, share their stories of breaking free from that, and support others who are struggling with being repressed by the religion, and I respect that motive more than just trying to make money/be famous for being the 'bad girls' of their religion.
When Taylor's mom was trying to convince her to go back to church and talk to the bishop, she said she was afraid they would excommunicate her so it's best for her to stay away. This show has a divide of "good" mormons and "bad" mormons. I'm not sure the "bad" ones go to church anymore. The "good" ones aren't doing anything wrong. There's no rules against dancing in the church and the whole soft swinging thing is very vague and not really clear about who was doing what.
eb777888 Not sure if you know this or not but Watch What Crappans is covering this show.
I listened! They said they're only going to cover it during the Bravo drought, so there may not be anymore episodes (I think they covered the trailer and the first episode). I'm bummed they're probably not covering them all, but there's so much Bravo coming up. The scheduling of Bravo has been so weird with hardly anything, then a million shows coming out at once. It's a nightmare for the Bravo podcasters.

This is really interesting. My former step mom is Mormon (why we were converted) and when she and my dad divorced, she definitely wasn't excommunicated. She remarried and is still practicing. They're LA California mormons though. ETA: And I wasn't excommunicated either because they still show up at my door, trying to get me to go to church.

I have a feeling there is more than I know. I am the youngest of 5 girls and was really little when it all happened. I do know that they stopped showing up at our home and have never followed us when we moved.
My father died 30+ years ago and it wasn’t a Mormon service.

I don't know what this says about me, but the Mormons I knew when I was their age acted like they all do. It was all church, behind the scenes drinking, church, a smattering of meth, church, and parents being disappointed, while popping out the children. There's not a lot of transition time between behaving like virginal little girls and then being an "adult" and a lot of them don't handle it well. Throw in the pressure of evangelizing through social media and this is what you get.
I watched the whole show this weekend and man, I feel like I have a Mormon wives hangover, lol. It was way too cringe for me, and I did not find a single person likeable.
I wanted it to be more of a behind the scenes look of the Mormons we all saw blogging years ago, who live far more by the confines of the church. Those women fascinate me, for some reason.
This was just like watching a younger version of real housewives, which I hate.
**I did not realize how much money influencers are making. That is WILD.
ETA: I also keep thinking "what does the church think of this show?" and will they be excommunicated in the near future. What do the families of these people think? Etc.
I also read they filmed the first episode to see how it would go and in the end when Taylor was arrested they had to take a break from filming for all of that, so when they started again it was like 9 months later.
This was great! I go back and forth on whether or not I like each wife, except Whitney. I greatly dislike her, and when I found out she was RSV-dancing-TikTok mom she turned into a total BEC for me.

I wonder if they're at the point that any press is good press?
I mean, this is a religion that allows people to be baptized in place of dead relatives to claim they're Mormon.
