To add more fun facts to this thread, I recently learned that the Sphynx breed was originally developed in Canada. Taking the fur coat off a cat seems such an odd choice in a country this cold...

My BIL has had 4 sphynx cats here in Canada. They can't go outside ever, because they will sunburn horribly in the summer, and get too cold in the winter. They are ugly little cuddlebugs and spend most of their days buried under blankets. I knit the first one a hoodie. He did not like it.

My friend's XH randomly got one of these cats. They're high maintenance! He apparently needs to apply oil or something to it frequently. We've got LOTS of jokes about his hairless pussy.
My cousin has two of them! They're still kittens and such a riot in the videos he posts...his giant hairy dog does NOT know what to think of them. Both are named after Hunger Games characters, I'm kind of surprised he didn't go with a name like Nudacris since it fits with his sense of humor
