I finished The Beantown Girls by Jane Healy, 4*. A little Hallmark like at times, but entertaining over all.
Qotw: I wouldn't say I'm superstitious, but I will acknowledge common superstitions when they arise in life and may adjust my behavior when they arise more out of fun/OCD/safety than actual belief in superstitions. For example I won't usually walk under a ladder but it's mostly due to safety. I may also pick a four leaf clover or pick up a heads up penny but they are more for the fun idea of the superstition than actual belief in any good luck.
I finished listening to Long Way Home by Louise Penny Still reading Half Broke Horses and Overstory.
QOTW: I don’t stick with things long. I may do something sports related if a team is on a wining streak. I recently stopped wearing a specific team shirt to my kid’s games because every time I had, they’d have a gut wrenching loss. Not a blow out but one where they’d have a bad call that would lose the game, or a fluke that resulted in a loss. That shirt had bad juju!
Finished The Life Impossible by Matt Haig. 1*. It was a struggle to read. Started Languishing by Corey Keyes. I heard about I via Hidden Brain podcast. Edit: link
I’ve been reading Death at the Sign of the Rook — Kate Atkinson’s newest addition to the Jackson Brodie books. I’m enjoying it and hoping I have time to finish it today.
QOTW: nothing that I’m serious about. I’ll make wishes when it’s 11:11.

Recently finished up the Blood and Ash series (so far, I think there will be more). I like it a lot! My H just started the 2nd book in the series. He's been listening to audiobook versions of a lot of the series I've read. He's listened to all SJM, Fourth Wing, and now he's working on Blood and Ash!
Started and am about 2/3 the way through Well Matched (the 3rd in a series of romance centered partially around a Ren Faire). Good, but I keep feeling like these characters have nothing in common. I've also been listening to A Gentleman in Moscow. I'm not sure how I feel about it. The writing is extremely descriptive, which sometimes is beautiful but sometimes feels drawn out. I also just feel like nothing is *happening*.
QOTW: Not really, but sometimes I feel like I shouldn't watch a sports game if I recently watched one and my team lost or something.

I finished "It's Not Summer Without You" and made a tiny bit of progress in "First Lie Wins"
QOTW: Not really, but I like to make a wish at 11:11 or other times that match like that. Also 10:41 (inside joke). I'm big on knock on wood and "don't put it in the universe" (if it's bad) etc.

Qotd: not really
I just DNF'd The Life Impossible. The chapters that I read were a struggle.

Finished Master, Slave, Husband, Wife,The Good, the Bad, and the Aunties, and Everyone on This Train is a Suspect.
Started reading Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers about a 60 year old woman who runs a teashop where a man. Is found dead and she decides it's a murder and she should solve it. It's cuter than I expected.
Started listening to Do Your Worst about a woman hired to break a curse on a Scottish castle and it's less cute than I expected.
QOTW: Do you have any superstitions? I'm a theater kid at heart, so I'm pretty superstitious.
Once again I almost forgot to reply to a post I started!
I finished the September House. It was actually really good and more meaningful (for lack of a better word) than I expected. Highly recommend if anyone is looking for a good Fall/Halloween read.
QOTW: I don't really take them seriously but I will knock on "wood" and a few other things like that.
