My son is a size 10.5 (usually) and mentioned ugg winter boots for college.
First would these be good for snow/ice? he has to walk far for classes.
Second I see they are size 10 or 11 only. I'm thinking 11 but sometimes 11s are way too big for him. (dress shoes) but sometimes they got fine (Nike AF1s, but other Nikes are 10s. he has a weird foot.
third, anyone know how hard it is to return if it's the wrong size?

I would guess that being a little big won’t be a problem, especially since he might want to wear thick socks with them. Uggs are pretty forgiving and wearing them a touch large won’t matter much IMO.
I’m in NJ and wear Ugg’s a ton in winter, but they aren’t a sub for snow boots. In wetter conditions they’ll get wet easily because they aren’t waterproof. I spray with water resistant stuff, but they’ll still get wet trudging through a lot of snow and then my feet get cold and they end up stained. They’re great o ce all the sidewalks have been shoveled.
The sheepskin ones are terrible in snow and ice and any wet conditions. They do have real snow boots though. I'm a 9.5-10 in shoes and my sheepskin ones are a size 9. I'm assuming men's run similar because the fabric stretches a little

I'd probably just take him shopping to DSW or Dicks when he's home over Thanksgiving break for more reasonably priced boots that he can try on. I wouldn't buy Uggs.
I actually ended up ordering some yesterday because I hadn't had any responses yet and they were on sale for under $100.
My DS had asked for them anyway and I didn't know what else to get for his birthday. If he does like them. I'll just return them. there's a 30 day return policy.
I'll just have him use those for warmth and get a cheap pair for wet/snow as well. The last couple years were cold but dry so he may he able to wear them frequently. they were cheaper than his sneakers usually are. haha.
