DS is with his dad so my parents and I went out to dinner. On the way home Garth Brooks' Friends in Low Places came on the radio. I haven't heard it in years, but we all belted out every word!
Plus random things like my high school fight song and the theme song to Growing Pains and Animaniacs. I have infinite brain supply for lyrics. Zero for important things.
Too many to name lol I have a weird talent for song lyrics
Same.
I like to joke that all of my brain space that would otherwise be dedicated to simple mathematics was overrun early on with song lyrics and never recovered.
Way too many songs from the late 80s thru 2004ish.
I saw the remaining members of Alice In Chains last week as an opening act and wasn’t the biggest fan even in the 90s. And knew every damn word to those songs.
I often wonder what I could do if half my brain were not 90s lyrics.
Tonight's solos at the dinner table were I Swear, What's Up, Closer to Fine, Gangsta's Paradise. I messed up Kiss from a Rose, but I am convinced no one really knows all the words to that song anyway.
The other day how to save a life came on the radio and I started singing it and my 10 year old son was like MOM you know this song???(is it trendy again for some reason?) so I was like uhhh do I know THIS SONG??!! And so I sang every word to show him. And he was like oh. Well I guess you did know it how come? And I said well… there was this TV show called Scrubs..
So I guess my answer is how to save a life by the fray.

Lots of songs! But literally any song Nsync ever had (even the ones in Spanish) are permanently stored in my brain. Most pop song from 1998-2006. All of Hamilton.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
H quotes movies and song lyrics all the time. I suck at pop culture. I don’t know most celebrities, hate awards shows, and can only quote a few movies. I love music, but generally cannot tell you who sings what. It’s not my forte either, but I can rock out the songs I do know. 🤣 But, they’re mostly the white people karaoke type songs.

I recently horrified my daughter by singing the entire theme song for Out of This World. I hadn’t even thought about that show in decades, so I was shocked I remembered the whole thing.
A collection of show tunes, Wierd Al parodies, and Disney songs. We weren't allowed to listen to the radio growing up, so our car rides consisted of singing hymns and church camp songs.

I know tons of 80s and 90s songs and just about every song from the Beatles and Queen that I can sing along to if they are on, but I don’t think I know most of them well enough to do blind karaoke and get every single word right.
I can still recite the Preamble to the Constitution to the tune from School House Rock though because I had to memorize it in middle school. 🎶 “We the People in order to form a more perfect union…” 🎵
