My DH wakes up hot every night and ends up moving to the guest room. We think it’s a steroid he takes; I’m rarely hot at night. We’ve already bought a new mattress last year, have all cotton linens (percale sheets, thin cotton quilt) ac is on, fan is on.
We’ve ruled out the bed jet since I’m not interested in the split sheet thing and a cool air blowing under the sheets sounds terrible. We are looking at the pads that use water to keep you cool since we can get one that will only go on his side.
I use a BedJet and I love it, but I also sleep alone. It's easy to control to my preference and it keeps me from overheating in the warm weather. In the cool weather, a blast of hot air puts me right out. No experience with other devices.

Does the air blow on you or is it just generally cooler under the sheets?

It depends on the fan speed. If you put the nozzle on yh's side of the bed, I'd doubt you'd feel much airflow. I've never used it with another person. I also don't have the comforter - mine just blows right between the sheets. I like the feeling of air on my skin though - like driving with the windows down.

My husband uses bed jet just on his side. Idk he says it keeps him cool and he likes it but seems weird to me. He just has a smaller size that he uses and I don’t.

I have bedjet - I love it.
DH does not use it, so I bought the queen size sheet and use it for just me on our king size bed, DH has his own sheet. The sheet is like a duvet, the air does not blow directly on me, it's contained, I have a blanket on top to keep it weighted.
It took a while to get the right temp and fan speed - but now that I have, it is wonderful.
I really want a Chilipad! Would love if someone here has tried it.
I don't have direct experience, but my next door neighbor bought the half-king Chilipad for his wife for Christmas and she loves it. He tried it out and loved it so much that he then convinced her to turn it sideways so it would be under both of their bodies when they slept (but not really their legs) and they are both happy. I've been tempted to get one based on their rave review.

We have a bed jet and love it. We don’t have a split bed or split sheets and haven’t had any problems with it. It’s down by dh’s feet in the corner of the bed and blows between the fitted and flat sheet. It has different modes with different strength of air so the temperature gets to my side but is never a strong draft on my side or anywhere other than right in front of the spout.
Update: We ended up buying the bedjet since neither of us was very comfortable with the idea of a water based system around our mattress & wood floors. It arrived yesterday and DH was, ironically, too cold last night. He changed the settings so we will try again tonight but overall I think we will be happy with it! We installed it on his side of the bed at the foot of the bed so I feel it a little bit but not much and nothing I can't manage with some blankets.
As far as changing sheets, that's a no go for me. I LOVE smooth, crisp percale sheets.
