Did anyone else watch this? I ended up really liking it. I had assumed that it would all be wrapped up in a nice little bow after 8 episodes, but no. And Netflix hasn't even purchased season2. I hope that this isn't yet another show that I really enjoy but never get closure.

joy, same! And it is definitely not. I'm a multitasker and will usually be scrolling on my phone while watching tv, but I actually had to put down my phone and pay attention to this show.
I binged it in two days. I loved it, even though it is so ODD and over the top. I usually need to watch things that require less thinking at the end of the day but man did this one suck me in.

A member of my household started watching it so I rewatched some of it with them (something I'd rarely do) and I caught some little things that I'd missed the first time around.

I'm just over halfway, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm actually thinking it's fun with just the right mix of serious drama and absurdity. And I'm loving the costuming. Aren't the various mthologies of euridices and orpheus tragedies?

I binged in 2 days and LOVED it! Also hoping for a second season, though I went into it expecting it to be a limited series.
Jeff Goldblum is my fave, but I wound up liking Dyonisis (sp?) the best. Man I loved that actor and character! Riddy, too. And of course Suzy Eddie Izzard.
I really liked it. It took my until the last couple of episodes for me to REALLY like it - I think it spent the first 3-4 episodes building so I needed to see where it was going. I agree with PP that I’m glad it didn’t wrap up tidily at the end of the last episode, and I really hope there’s more to come.
It seems like the internet isn’t hopeful though - it didn’t peak high enough on the Netflix charts. I’m guessing the MA rating probably impacted viewership.
We are only half way through but liking that it isn't the same old, same old. And it's sent us searching through myths to check what is and isn't coming from Greek tradition.
(sort of spoiler? Maybe? It's in the myths, and more back story than a spoiler type plot point...
I was surprised to learn Caeneus is trans in the myths, but not an Amazon. I'd guessed it was going to be the opposite before reading up on it. I think Misia Butler is doing a great job with the role).

Thanks. I took greek mythologyin college and remembered a lot, but I kept having to Google to see if I remembered incorrectly or if this was a place where the script veered from the classics, not that they at identical either (like the biblical gospel)
I should also mention I loved the casting and not just the genius of goldblum. I about howled when I saw Suzy Eddie izzard whom I'd recognize anywhere. I had to look up the other 2 fates, and they all 3 have similar queer identities.
I've seen the man who played daedalus in other films/TV. I think he's usually in dramatic roles, but he also has a wicked sense of humor.
They really set it up for a 2nd season, so here's hoping Netflix doesn't pull some bs, although if they renew we still won't see it for a couple years. And hopefully in a 2nd we'll see some of the other gods.
I looked up the Daedalus actor because if Call the Midwife taught me anything, it’s that thalidomide caused his type of arms. I love that the show didn’t make any special notice of his arms. Also, he has a show called Unarmed and Dangerous.
We are reading Percy Jackson as a family, and it definitely helped with knowing some of the characters!
I just finished and really enjoyed it. I hope there's another season.
I didn't think the trailer sold it well at all. I only started watching because of this thread.
I agree with the bolded. I kept seeing it on my Netflix main page but it wasn't grabbing my attention. I finally decided to watch because I was bored LOL The trailer actually does it a huge injustice, it was so much better than the trailer.
I think if Netflix needs to pivot to more mini series if they don’t want to greenlight second seasons. Shows come out at random times and if they aren’t an immediate runaway hit, they cancel them. It’s a strange way to run a network in 2024

I read about this show on here and decided to watch it with my DH. We just finished it and enjoyed it a lot. So sad it is canceled! I feel like sometimes it takes a while for a new show to get noticed, so it is disappointing when it gets canceled so quickly.

I feel like I've read that the viewership numbers from the first week after release are all that matter when deciding to renew a show. Which is insane, but also kind of makes sense in terms of the age of binge watching.
