Wicked, the movie, is going to make so much money, like Avatar money.
I am so excited for this movie, it looks absolutely amazing. And for some reason I feel like I need to go see it in some sort of costume LOL
ETA I see not everyone shares in my excitement! But I love Wicked, it's one of my favorite Broadway shows and I'm a sucker for the original Wizard of Oz movie and the book. Basically, I love everything Oz
I didn't enjoy the play or the book really, but I love any opportunity to go to the movie theater while dressed up.

Have you read Finding Dorothy? It's historical fiction about Maud Baum, the wife of Frank Baum, who wrote The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It's so good!
Are you by chance on iron supplements? I had low iron when I was pregnant and the supplements did this to me. They ended up giving me a magnesium supplement with it and that helped so much.
I am taking iron, but also taking magnesium. I’m on a high fiber, whole food diet (bc reflux) and take fiber supplements… it’s just either all or nothing in the poop department 🥲

My dad rode with me this AM as he had to drop his truck off at the dealership right by my mom's rehabilitation facility. He has not stopped making fun of me all day.
I bring two 40 oz Tumblers with me, and stop at 2 different gas stations to fill them up with ice. One gets filled with cubed ice (for me) and the other gets filled with pebbled ice (for my mom).
I see no issues but he thinks I am nuts for doing this.
I am a terrible Marylander. I hate picking crabs, mostly a sensory issue with my hands being warm and moist with food, and the eating it 🤢. So H picks the crabs and I make crab cakes.
I just walked into the dining room to find him biting the bodies (to crack the shell)..
I’m at a school board meeting to try to get an ultra conservative religious curriculum out of the district and I think they brought tons of church members. They’re in red, we’re all in black. There are so many more of them.

😳😳😳 I have never picked a crab by biting its body! Does he not pull it open by the apron?

Pebble ice is superior. You are awesome, hope your mom is doing amazing!

When I was younger i would refuses to pick crabs, so i'd just eat the claws and my dad and brother let me. Now I'll occasionally pick them but I hate it, I use a paper towel to get most of the stuff out before picking the rest. And I grew up crabbing on the bay and droping our own traps off the dock, so I am hardcore Maryland, and I still hate it.
Get him a damn mallet before he breaks a tooth. You can even customize one to be something like "so you don't have to bite the legs" or some shit.
We had such a nice day yesterday that was mostly unplanned, I love living here, especially now having a child.
We went to a museum that had a new exhibit highlighting a Black artist. On the way there after we got off the subway we ran in to a cool exhibit about elephants on the street with these large elephant statues made from a weed that is dangerous to elephants. So the exhibit was highlighting the important of elephants and where they live, etc. Then as we kept walking my partner’s friend was playing in this pop up music concert with experimental music. Afterwards we got pizza and then there was a playground on the water 2 blocks away so we headed there. So the only thing planned was the museum but along the way we ran in to all that other stuff.
So glad our daughter will be exposed to all these different experiences and people growing up.
The great elephant migration? My PCP’s cousin is the artist . I saw the exhibit in Newport Rhode Island this past July and will see them again in nyc this weekend. So so so gorgeous.

Thank you!
My mom is kicking ass at therapy. 10 days ago it took 2 grown adults just to get her out of the wheelchair and into bed and now she is walking a good 20 steps with only the aid of a walker.
katfco thank you for fighting the good fight. They can offer that curriculum at their church. Please let us know how it goes.
Three fourths of the people there were in support of the program, but when the speaker chosen for our side asked people to stand who actually were parents with kids in the schools, very few of them stood. Most are just church members or out of district or their kids don't attend the public schools.
We had one person chosen to speak for everyone, and then the rest just say, "I support it." They had people going up to talk about how important Christianity is to them, or to the country (one guy was so off the rails that some of us couldn't contain our laughter). Talking about "the district claims to be inclusive, so you should include us."
This was the first reading of the policy, so nothing will happen until at least next time. We're in the area where the program was founded, so they actually had the CEO of the company there (It's Lifewise, if anyone's wondering).
I also saw one of my coworkers supporting the other side. Ouch.
I think this is an unpopular opinion: Wicked is blah. Blah!
Seeing it on Broadway with Idina Menzel is a top 5 entertainment moment for me. Truly just an amazing talent. Seeing Wicked again when it toured wasn’t as special. No interest in the movie.

I'm so sorry! I'm shocked that it's in your district - how is that even possible? In a public school? That's really upsetting. About 10 years ago my daughter's elementary school planned a field trip to a nearby church. Americans United was really helpful to me with trying to stop the field trip. The district didn't back down during the initial trip, but they didn't plan the same one the next year, so I'll take that as a win. Someone from here actually recommended Americans United to me way back then www.au.org/

I have no idea what he does. I pretty much turned and walked out. I did discuss it, and he did acknowledge that it is rather weird to be putting his mouth on something he then expects others to eat. We have mallots. We have crackers. We have tools.
While I’m laughing at his non-native ness (I am not either!) he uses a fondue fork to get the meat out of places.

I grew up there and was expected to pick my own crabs by 4, so this cracked me up. H doesn’t know what he’s doing either. He orders crab cakes at restaurants and the one time we had a crab feast when we visited, I showed him how to do it, watched him try, gave up and picked them for him. It grosses him out and I totally get that. It IS gross lol.
