We're thinking of doing this during the hockey season. Because the boosters are not part of the school we can include alcohol. A few questions:
1. Did the booster provide the cooler and alcohol or did they provide the cooler and collect money or alcohol from each player's parent?
2. What did you sell tickets for? Did you sell them cheap and no limit on tickets sold or sell at a higher price, but limit the number of tickets, e g. $50/ticket limited to 50 tickets.
A coworker's kid's baseball team does this. The parents basically donate everything, sometimes they can get a sponsor to donate the cooler.
Tickets I think were $25? They may have had a deal if you bought 5 or something. I don't remember their being a limit, but this was a couple years ago for them to go to a specific tournament in Florida.
Our hockey association does a mite jamboree every year and every team is asked to donate a basket of some kind. Usually at least one team does an alcohol basket and I think parents/families donate to fill it up. We have all of our baskets set on tables along the wall and you can buy tickets (less expensive, like 10 for $20 or something) and put them in whichever basket you want to try to win.
