Hi! I'm going to Vegas with some friends next month. None of us are big gamblers. We want to relax, go to a nice spa and eat good food. We are all pretty open minded when it comes to food. Do any WPs have restaurant recs? We are stay at the Venetian...

We stayed at the Venetian in January & had a ball. You are going to love it. The Venetian has an excellent spa, lots of free spa things to do before your service. So, if you choose to book there, plan to go early and stay after. Sauna room, steam room, cold blast room (because why not?), whirl pool , quiet room , etc. - all with fluffy robes and slippers. I had trouble booking online, so it might take a few tries (I went in person and got lucky with availability). Outside but next to the spa entrance is a huge work out wing with lots of stuff to lift and do (if that’s anyone’s scene). It might have free classes (?).
Anyway, for food - the hidden gem that I got so lucky to find is actually in the Venetian on the same floor as the spa. The menu has a spa theme - so expect terrific greens and roasted veggies. Vegas food can be a bit rich in busy areas so this was absolutely a welcome find. I think they do lunch -ish hours, so maybe keep it in mind for that time of day. I think it’s popular around spa services. Go figure.
I highly recommend The Grand Lux Cafe for breakfast or brunch. (There are 2 in the Venetian, I went to the bigger one). There is always a line, so get your names down when you can. You must order the beignets immediately when you sit down (before you read the menu!) because they are cooked to order and take a bit of time. It will change your lives for the better. Seriously. Light, delicious, life affirming.
I went to Vegas for my sister’s 40th bday party last fall (she and her friend were there for BravoCon) and we went to Chica at the Venetian and really enjoyed it. Love that it’s a female restauranteur.
Also, your hotel is next to the Sphere. You probably heard about it, it’s amazing. If you can get tickets for any show, go! We saw an in-house film with a lot of nature / futurist theme. You may have an option for a view of the Sphere from your room (we didn’t), which would be super cool. Maybe ask? Not sure if it’s an extra charge but worth keeping in mind that it’s “special” in case it’s an option. It changes color and images and all that.
Also, your hotel is next to a street with the Ferris wheel. That whole block (from street to Ferris wheel) is very interesting to walk down (restaurants and shopping), so if you want to get out of the hotel, you don’t have to go far. We went to In and Out Burger for a kick (1st time!).
If you want to get off the strip and do an outing, I had a very good experience with the Pink Jeep tour. We took a 1/2 day morning trip to the Hoover Dam. A small mini van picked us up at our hotel - very good communication. They pick up at a bunch of hotels and the van had a bunch of people. The tour guide was engaging on the way there and back and the van was clean and new. The dam was a marvel. And of course the views. We also bought our own tickets for the Hoover dam tour which was great.
Thanks, everyone! Also, are there any spas on the strip you'd recommend? I'm looking at the ones at Cesar's and the Venetian. They seem really $$$, but it could just be Vegas prices.
