What an incredible career - I don't even think it's mentioned in the obit but "Hook" jumps to mind as another iconic role.

She is one of my favorite actresses. I am so sad that she passed away. I literally loved everything she was in.

Oh, this one makes me sad. I love her. The Dowager Countess is one of the best fictional characters ever. Also, I'm kind of surprised she was only 89? I thought she was older.

I was sad when I saw this pop up in my news feed. A lot of actors and musicians that we grew up with are getting older and it's such a bummer.

Her razor sharp wit will be hugely missed. It was the best part of Downton Abbey

I think the reason she felt over 89 is that she has been playing an older woman for such a long time. I mean, she was Mother Superior in 1992! She was actually only 57.

She will be so missed.

Yes! And she was Granny Wendy in Hook in 1991. A true legend.
