Friday: off Sat.: Ebike Sunday: Cyclocross race. No ebike. I didn't know how this was going to be since I haven't really ridden my "regular" bikes since heart surgery in Jan. It...went. I managed 2 laps per 35 minute race. In the first race I had a breathing attack--first time in a few YEARS. Of course my inhaler was in the car. I took some before the 2nd race. Confirmed lung damage from the surgery doesn't help. The course was really hard. I've been told many times that recovery from open heart surgery takes a year. I'm definitely not in as good of shape as I was last CX season. There were 2 of us in the women's Single Speed (racing a bike with only one gear!), so I won cash money!! $20. It paid for gas and dinner. I'll take it!
Fri: long run, step back week. Headed out for 9, or 2 hours whichever came first, ended up with 8. Sat: lots of standing and walking- camping with Cub scouts and attending a 3d printing festival Sun: pack up camp. Couch potato time.
I ran 14 miles on Sunday, and had a tough go of it. It took around 8 miles for everything to loosen up, and until 10 miles to start feeling good. Miles 10-14 were the fastest ones by a long shot.
I'm feeling pretty beat up overall and struggling to recover. This is my last big week (5-10-5-20). So far I've run every scheduled mile, but I'm thinking this week about what rises to the level of maybe taking an extra rest day somewhere. Obviously the 20 is important, but do I need both 5s? I just need to catch up a little.
One of my besties is planning to come across the country to DC to see me for MCM next month <3 <3 <3. I'm so close, I gotta refrain from doing anything too dumb and messing this up!

take the 5 off! I mean, if you've got a big time goal, maybe ignore me, but you have to skip way more than one workout before you're going to put a dent in your training, and recovery is VITAL.

I think that's the right answer. I did my scheduled 5 yesterday, but today I slept in and did not do my 10. I think I may do my 10 tomorrow and skip the 2nd 5 miler this week.

That sounds smart. I’m in awe that you have run alll your runs so far! As you can see from Strava, I cannot say the same lol.
My bad leg (I broke my left leg in 3 places years ago for those of you who weren’t around then) has been sore in a concerning way the last month+ so I’ve been slacking on the weekday runs in order to be sure I can manage my longs. I switched sneakers last week and it’s feeling a bit better, but I’m still leaning conservative. Aiming for 3, 7, 3 + the 20 this weekend instead of 5, 10, 5. I did my 7 today and felt strong and fast!
