I received a letter saying my info may have been compromised. I went to equifax and checked my history and nothing was amiss. I also put a fraud alert on all three credit companies. Do I need to do anything else?
The letter said they would offer 2 years of free credit protection. I didn't do that. I'm 99% sure it is a legit letter but still don't want to log into anything with them.

I got the exact same letter and am very skeptical. It was so vague on details on which one of my healthcare providers uses them. While it may be legit, it's also the perfect scam and easy way to get all of my information. I am very curious to see if anyone knows if it's legit.
We also got this for both kids. I have no plans to do anything, considering I emailed them a question and never heard back. That said, an internet search says the data breach was legit.

"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I got that, too! I already have my credit frozen from a different data breach, but we also got a letter for one of my kids. I am wondering if I should go through the process of freezing his credit. It seems like more of an ordeal for a child.
The Change Healthcare fiasco was an enormous data breach back in February. I watched the news about the breach and its consequences get swept under the rug and hidden in real time. This is why Americans have no idea where the money goes in healthcare.
The actual breach happened at the workstation of an overseas user at United Health. United Health bought Change Healthcare as part of its claims & payment processing arm a few years ago. The breach brought an immediate halt to many parts of the healthcare machine in the US for patients and hospitals/doctors/pharmacies. There was no urgency on United Health's end to get things fixed.
Anyways, various entities are starting to send out letters if they were affected. You may get more than one. There is no unified effort on this.

sent Thanks! I got a letter from a healthcare provider not all that long ago and I wondered if it was related. Sounds like there is a decent chance that it was.

We haven’t gotten it yet, but I know several people who have. It’s legit. I froze my credit not long ago due to a different breach, so I probably won’t do anything if I do get one.

Yes it’s very legit. There was a huge data breach.
We got the letters for my partner and my daughter.
