Does anyone have a favorite crock pot recipe that you would serve to guests? Just my parents so it doesn't have to be fancy. My mom can't have gluten but we could sub gluten free something. They are arriving here tomorrow around 8 and won't have been able to eat dinner yet, but that's a little late to go out on a Wednesday
I love this recipe. I add corn and peas to mine towards the end.

The 2 things I make in the crock pot that I would feel ok serving to guests are chicken fajitas (chicken breasts drizzled with evoo, packet of fajita seasoning, a pepper or 2 cut up and some onion cut up (and whatever other veggies you might like, but we just do these 2), shredded after it is cooked but when there's still time left, and then you could use gluten free taco shells or wraps. Or hot sausages with peppers and onions. I do sear the sausages first but then finish in the crock pot with jarred sauce. I also throw in meatballs for my kids since they don't like hot sausage. And then serve on hoagie buns (but I eat low carb so I just eat it without the buns).
Arghhhhhh, I hate when you have to wait on someone else to give you information to finish a work project. I usually don't have to rely on someone else (i.e. HR), so this is torture for me to not totally be in control. And now because of someone else, I will probably miss DD's game today. Hell at this point we will be lucky to get this sent out by COB.
Our sump pump was replaced this morning and the pest control guy completed the flea treatment. They come back in either 2 weeks or 30 days, I need to check. I really hope things are on the upswing for us now. I'm currently at a coffee shop having an apple cheddar panini and an autumn salad, fall AF over here while I'm waiting to get back in my house. I have 2 hours to go, so I might spend an hour here, and then put my shit on the porch and go for a long walk for the last hour. Thankfully, work is slowish because I do better in my home office with all my screens.
No ill effects from the flu and Covid shots I got yesterday aside from sore arm and a swollen lymph node in my armpit, which is annoying, but happened last year also.
We have a lot of stuff to put away tonight, ugh. But, we can do some of it while watching the debate so that should be entertaining.
My husband loves to wear zip-up hoodies around the house. We're looking for something that's a bit of a step up, yet equally as comfortable for out of the house. Not fleece. Full zip, but not a zip up sweater. He doesn't feel old enough for those yet. Ideas?

I love Italian beef sandwiches. Serve on good rolls with chips or oven fries. You can Google recipe or sometimes we use this one. www.allrecipes.com/recipe/16427/slow-cooker-italian-beef-for-sandwiches/ But you'd want to make sure the Italian dressing mix doesn't have gluten, I'm not sure if it does or not.

They've gotten more expensive since I bought one, but I like my hoodie from American Giant. It's on the heavier side though, and good quality.
ETA - lust2hart already suggested this lol. Mine has a hood tho.

I hate having to do personality tests for work. I looked at the results before I took the test and identified what I was based on the 60 other personality tests I've done over the years. Then I actually took the test, and I was correct. What a waste of time.
My DH is home sick. He has been holed up in our bedroom all day. At 1:40pm I checked on him and let him know that I have a meeting at 2:00. At 2:15, he walked into our office to talk to me. After not leaving the bedroom all freaking day. Dude.
I am somehow wearing my 11 year old’s newer solid colored underwear today. I thought the pants felt a little snug this morning and didn’t realize it was the underwear until I was already at work. Ha! This came to be by my husband doing the laundry and my getting dressed in the dark. 🤪🤣

It's my youngest daughter's 6th birthday today! She asked for spaghetti for dinner. Easy peasy.
I have random question about the flu shot. Has anyone ever felt like it made them depressed? I got my shot yesterday and I have felt very down today. I don't know if it's just life catching up with me or something else.
soccermama I would be hounding whoever you are waiting on, I hate missing family stuff because of work - it happens a lot, I've started bringing my laptop with me so I can at least be physically present.
I hope you get out of there on time, that feeling of anger/guilt/sadness is the absolute worst.
I've been doing letters for Vote Forward and I now know there is a place in Pennsylvania called Tunkhannock, do any of you live there what do you call it, it's too many syllables for me.
I don’t live there but I think they just call it tunkhannock It’s fewer syllables than Philadelphia, you goof!
No. 2 syllables only. Philly New York SF Boston Dallas
I'm going to put this here so I don't say it out loud but my ILs had to put their dog down today and based on past behavior I know their move is going to be to get another one ASAP. They are huge dog people. They are *84.* Their go-to breed is 60 pounds at a minimum. MIL is healing from a broken hip. We won't be able to stop them and it's going to make me insane.
We finally started groups yesterday after all the support we provide and testing we do. I was asleep before 10pm and slept like a log until 6:10am. It is so busy and fast paced all day long.
Reading teacher here--we started yesterday too and OMG. I am beat!

I went to get my mammogram today, and they came out and called 'Barbara' for her appointment, and 3 women got up. So then they said Barbara H., and 2 women still stayed up, so they had to say the full last name to make sure they had the right Barbara. One of them was grandma age, but the other 2 seemed more my age, so born in the day of Jessica and Jennifer. I was floored.

Aww that sucks! Glad there are more games, you can be there cheering loudly and embarrassing her as you should be 🤣
