The plant where I work is closing at the end of the year, so I am beginning my job search. I did some googling as to whether LinkedIn Premium is worth the cost ($35/month if you go month to month) and the answer was yes. So I went ahead and signed up for the free trial. I feel like there's not much of an improvement from regular Linked in. For example, I had been hoping that I could filter the jobs that LinkedIn says I am a top applicant for or that they recommend. But it doesn't allow filtering. So even though I cannot relocate and do not want to WFH, 75-90% of the jobs they suggest are relocations or remote. And most of the others are things I am not qualified for AT ALL! Like physician? No. Most of the people who looked at my profile are looking at it with the private setting, so I didn't learn anything there either. So far, I don't see any advantage to it, definitely not one worth $35/month, and I was hoping to hear if other people have used it and what you thought.
I've paid for it twice, and neither time I felt like I got any real value from it. That being said, I'm a very reluctant LinkedIn user, so my profile isn't really beefed up to begin with.
I like it because I can look at people in private mode and can see who is looking at me. I started using it because I had to testify in a pretty controversial public hearing several years ago and was suddenly getting an epic ton of people looking at my profile. The testimony for my company was controversial enough that the company sent armed plainclothes security to escort me to and from the sites where I had to testify and we had some ecoterrorism happening at facilities. So I really wanted to know who the heck was looking me up. Most people outside of recruiters and executives won’t pay, so I could mostly see who was looking.

I have been paying for it for a few months, but it's not all that useful. I like seeing the stats on job applicants (how many people applied, breakdown of education level, etc.), but I'm not sure that helps me. At this point, the $35 is my sacrificial offering to the gods of capitalism, begging them to please grant me a new job ASAP.
