I’ve been binging Homicide: Life on the Street. It’s old (90s), but new to streaming. It’s on Peacock. I loved it when it was on originally, and I’m loving watching it again. It holds up so well. The first several seasons were some of the best of any show from that era. (The last 1-2 seasons, however, were not great)
OMG I LOVED this show and periodically check to see if it’s made it to streaming and didn’t know it had!!! Hooray!!!

The only downside of it streaming is they couldn’t get the rights for a lot of the music, so most of the music has been replaced, which is a bummer because the music was so good. Also, there are 2 new podcasts about the show - Homicide: Life on the Set (interviews with cast and crew about how the show was made) and Homicide: Life on Repeat (a rewatch podcast with Kyle Secor and Reed Diamond). I am loving all of the Homicide content that is out all of a sudden!

That happened to Scrubs too - love that show and the music. Actually makes me feel validated to have bought most of the DVDs (the old ones have the music).

La Maison. So much is subtitled I have to pay attention, but it has a cast of conniving unlikeable characters that are still enjoyable, kinda like succession.
Also watched nobody wants this. Cute, didn't require much brain power
Typical list of network shows that have returned.
Shamefully, I indulge in mafs uk. I'm traumatized from all the masssive injected lips and all the turkey teeth

I have been waiting for this to start streaming too! I don't think I ever watched it back in the 90s but I loved The Wire and love Baltimore so I am glad I can finally watch.
Of course my H watched it way back when and isn't interested because he's "already seen it". He is the most frustrating person ever to watch TV with.

If you loved The Wire, you’ll probably love Homicide, too. There is a fair amount of The Wire that was pulled directly from Homicide or David Simon’s book that Homicide was based on. There are also a lot of Wire actors that have guest spots on Homicide.
And boo to your H - Homicide is always worth rewatching 🙂

I'm so bummed I can't stream this here! I've been watching MAFS, season 16 this week and while I enjoy the show it's wayyyyy too long. They need to shorten it. It really turns me off of it, and this is coming from someone with a ton of free time on their hands, lol.

Finished S1 of Bad Sisters (love) and now I'm watching Love is Blind since my H is OOT. I'm kind of bored of it but that could be because I just binged LIB UK which was awesome!
Also on the list while H is away: Nobody Wants This and Three Women (book was good!)
tacokick, The Old Man started out really good but I get so bored of the flashback scenes. I kind of fell off it.

Apparently there's another new season of Married at First Sight (MAFS) Chicago coming out. Ugh I need to stay away. Last season was suuuuuch a long train wreck totally set up for dram-ah.
Scamanda is coming to Hulu as a documentary (I think?) I'm just listening to the podcast now during work. I need to listen with full attention because this is b-a-n-a-n-a-s. I think they should do a reenactment for a new season of the Dirty John series if that ever comes back.
Oh and I'm almost done with the last season of LIB. Chelsey is everything everyone said she is. Hope to finish later this weekend so I can start the new season. How do they keep filming so many so quickly?!

I haven’t seen it since I was a kid when it came out and it didn’t really re-air.
I’m torn because David Simon is the worst but I do kind of want to see ‘90s Baltimore again.
We started watching Murder in a Small Town (FOX, on Hulu) which has cozy mystery vibes. Solid Canadian actors and they are keeping the personal life storylines brisk and moving along which I like.

Timely as I just listened to the last bonus episode on my way home from the office today lol

That makes me wonder if my H actually saw it - I mean maybe it aired differently in England but he would have been too young too, then!

Do you have a VPN? That's how I watch. You do have to create an account with channel4, but it's free, and all you need to do is give a uk address (any will do as they don't confirm).
The uk version has many more episodes but the pace is much faster. Like aus version, it's 4 per week with one being the always explosive fiber party and one being the commitment ceremony where couples have to recommit every week. So it doesn't get as bogged down with trying to film could who clearly won't make it past d day and don't speak or film together.
There's a bunch of other content, too, and you can watch bake if days before Netflix has it for American audiences

I, too, watch both 911 shows. They are so truly ridiculous it's entertaining. Bee tormado, volcano under Austin, hijacked cruise ship. The list is extensive. Now it's "how will athena land the plane?"
BTW, the plane thing? Things (and people) probably wouldn't keep getting sucked out. The famous case of the flight attendent being lost forever when a panel ripped off the plane, nothing else was lost. I read an exlpanation when I was a kid that it's beccuase it's nearly instant pressure stabilization. You'd get the effects of the wind shear and things blowing around, but there's no vaccuum. But, I don't watch this show for anything resembling realism.
We are two episodes in on Tulsa King (Prime) and liking it. It has Sylvester Stallone in it and is a good mix of drama with witty characters.
The 2nd season was filmed primarily here in ATL. A friend of mine got to be on set to care for the horses that were used in filming. Towards the end of filming the entire local crew got to meet and hang out with Stallone for a little bit, take selfies, etc. She said it was one of the coolest things, and he was really nice the entire time she was on set.

If anyone has PBS passport for streaming- I’m obsessed with Mr Bates vs the Post Office right now. Only four episodes, I binged it all in one weekend. And now I’m listening to a whole podcast about it
Grotestique. It started out with promise, but I have my doubts the more I watch. Anyone else watched?
We've watched a few episodes. I think we are on the 4th episode? I fell asleep during the last episode so I'm not sure lol. I want to love it but it's a little odd.

I think that's where I am, too. It's going too far into the metaphysical for my personal taste. I was fine with the religious iconography and deragned tableaux. SVU had some pretty memorable episodes along those lines. Dexter, too, IIRC. But the whole the devil is out to get everyone and lake of fire and all that is too far.
Also a head nurse giving hand jobs? Plus the overeating daughter living at home in her 20s. It's just too many things.

I'm trying to watch as much Dame Maggie Smith right now as I can stream. Today it's the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Broke down into big heaving sobs at the end of the last Downton Abbey movie, which has the dowager's funeral, over the weekend. ("What is a week-end?") I don't generally get attached to actors, but I never really had a grandmother, and if I had one, her characters would have been perfect for me, provided Bea Arthur wasn't available. Will probably do Harry Potter next, just because it is easily streamable.
