I have a random question for people. Is everyone sizing up for high rise jeans? I am a 6-8 in low rise, mid rise jeans, and I can't get 8's to close at all on the high rise jeans.
OK to make this more fun. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
I'm thinking Iceland/ Norway/ Sweden/ Denmark for my next bigger trip.
I have one pair of high rise shorts and I did size up. I have a very odd shape - I'm about 5'6" with a 32" inseam - no torso and all leg. So high rise anything looks absolutely ridiculous on me and winds up in my armpits with my boobs sitting on the waistband.
I really, really want to go to New Zealand and Tahiti, but I would definitely need to be heavily sedated to be on a plane for that long. Iceland is an easy flight for us and I've also always wanted to go there.
I haven't bought jeans in a long time (>2 years) since I don't go in to an office anymore. Stretchy pants for the win!
I am going to Italy next month with my family and I can't wait to explore Tuscany and the Italian Alps. I would love to go to Africa, South America, Australia/New Zealand, Alaska, Hawaii - basically anywhere interesting! I have been to Iceland and it is very different from anything I've ever experienced. There are waterfalls, geysers, volcanoes, glaciers, hot springs, puffins, and the Northern Lights! The people and the history/culture is unique too. I highly recommend going!
Yes, I love high rise jeans because I carry my weight in my belly and have a lot of loose skin thanks to twins. But I definitely size up because that's my biggest part of my body. I can do a 14 in mid rise but bump up to a 16 with high rise usually.
Ireland is my absolute bucket list trip. I want to do a big trip all around the country and see all the things. I'm very Irish, spent my entire youth as a competitive step dancer and then dance teacher, and our Irish heritage has always been a special thing for my family. In college I backpacked all over Europe but specifically didn't go there because I wanted it to be a special standalone trip. Still haven't pulled it off....
I'm getting closer though - we'll be spending the holidays in Scotland with SIL!
I have an itinerary planned for Lapland Finland, during the northern lights and sleep some nights in a little bubble house with furry blankets watching the show. And a tour w reindeer. It has to be after my kids grow up bc I will never get there until then.
Ugh, jeans. But yes, I suppose I am sizing up for high rise jeans...I have such a hard time finding jeans that are flattering. I am short, have slim legs but carry all my weight in my middle.
I would go to Italy! That would be a dream trip for me...would love to explore all of Italy but especially see the Amalfi coast.
I don't know if I size up. I usually wear 8, but maybe 7-9. All jeans usually fit so differently, even the same style.
I don't think I could pick one. Italy, Greece, Austria, Bora Bora, England just for the manor houses I've always read about.
There are several place on my US list that I hope to happen soon. Glacier Lake various places in Montana, Wyoming, the Tetons, Maine and the New England States.
Aaaaannndddd...we figured we could go to a different Caribbean islands yearly for the rest of our lives.
I avoid high waisted pants in general. I hate only having 2 inches of skin between where my boobs end and my pants start. DD wears a 00 in midrise or low-rise jeans and needs a belt. She wears a 2 in high waisted jeans and that kid doesn't have a tummy so I don't get why she has to size up so much to get them to fit comfortably. She only has 1 pair and rarely wears them (I swear she only got them because they are "in"). ).
Australia, New Zealand, Argentia, Ireland, Italy/Mediterranean, Egypt, Madagascar (I get air sick on airplanes so these are really big dreams).
I'm glad I am not the only one struggling with high rise. They are the only ones I can find in stores, and I really don't prefer them since yes I do carry a little extra weight there. It's very hard to find mid rise in stores, and I have to scour online to find them. Why fashion why?
I don't size up for high rise jeans, but that's because I have almost non existent hips and butt.
I am usually up for seeing new places when I travel. However, I went to Czechia and Poland about 15 years ago and have been dreaming of returning sometime!

Have you tried democracy jeans? I really like them and Amazon has sales frequently. I find them to be true to mid-rise size. And very comfy as far as jeans go!

Mid rise look like high rise on me thanks to a short waist, so I don’t tend to wear high rise. I didn’t size up on my one pair of rise dress slacks but the fabric has some give.
I have so many! I’d have to say Japan, though. H wants to see the cities, I want to explore the traditional inns and the onsens. We are trying for a two week family trip when H turns 50. Our girls will be 14 and 17 then so I think it would be good timing.
I don't wear high rise jeans. They are not cute on me. But I think I would size down...my waist size is smaller than my hips size.
My next trip is Italy but it's not my choice (I'm excited, but I've been there and it wouldn't have been my top choice). I am dying to go to Botswana or Tanzania, Peru, New Zealand and Southeast Asia but nothing in the pipeline right now.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

I do have a couple of pairs of democracy jeans ab-solution. They are very comfy. I'm also a petite size because I am short, so I think pants in general are difficult for me but especially when they add in the high rise.

I'm not sure about high rise jeans and sizing up...but I can say that my favorite jeans are the wide legged ones even though I'm short and I probably shouldn't wear them. So comfy! #relevant
For short torso ladies - I have the Old Navy Wow Boyfriend Mid-Rise jeans (petite) and really like them. They’re like $30 or something. Not the sexiest jeans but comfy and a relaxed fit.
I just paid more than I would like for Kancan jeans. I was looking for Judy Bloom, but they were out of stock. They are mudrise and stretchy and I really like them.
