We're finishing the basement at our lake house and considering vinyl plank flooring. However, we did Home Depot's Lifeproof brand in the bathroom already down there (previous project) and while it's held up fine (it's not used very often though), it just looks so cheap to me. (I know there are varying levels of quality even within the Lifeproof line ... I have to hunt to see what we did back then.)
I searched and found a couple of threads that mention brands, but would love more insights. Repeat mentions in previous threads included Mannington, Coretec and Shaw.
I think the other option that would work down there is tile, and DH is concerned about it feeling cold. I'm not ready to rule it out yet though.
We have Paradigm. I just looked it up and I'm not sure what collection it is, we had it professionally installed and it's what they used. I like it a lot it's all through our main level so gets tons of use. We've have it for 6 years and it still looks great.
I’m pretty sure ours is Shaw. We used the same mom and pop store/installers we have used for carpet and they said none of their brands are sold at the big box stores.

We have Coretec LVP, a mid-range version. It's not my favorite, but it could be the style we bought. Everything seems very obviously plasticky to me, from the look and feel, the sound when we walk on it, to the edge pieces. DH says it's because I have expensive tastes, so I could be not a reliable source, lol.
We have Golden Arowsna from Costco. We went in the store fully intending to buy the Mohawk product but the GA was so much nicer. I was really worried to install it bc it’s not as well-known but it looks beautiful and our installer (our contractor, not thru Costco) said it was great to work with and really high quality. We’ve had it a year and no complaints at all (it’s in our basement).
Five years ago, we put in LifeProof in Shadow Hickory in our main living space. It has held up very well, although to be fair, we are not hard on our stuff and don't have kids or dogs; however, we do routinely have 12+ people in our home.
As far as how it looks... I mean, you can certainly tell that it's not hardwood or anything, but, that's fine because it's not hardwood, you know? I think it's obvious that it's LVP, and I guess I'm okay with that. *shrug* I much prefer how it feels and sounds to walk on our LVP vs. a friend's engineered hardwood - our LVP is more cushioned and the sound is significantly dampened as compared to the engineered hardwood.
I opened a few boxes at Lowe’s and Home Depot and found them to be too repetitive. We ended up with Lowe’s SmartCore Lexington and I’m really happy with them. They’ve held up great.
We bought Trucore for our main floor last year and it is so much nicer than the LVP we put in the basement years ago. Our basement one was from Lowe’s, can’t remember if it was Shaw or what brand, but it’s cracked and just not held up well.
Our Trucore was around $5-6/sq ft (LCOL) but is so durable and a bit more textured.
