Thanks to a post here I signed up for UserInterviews.com and I've made $150 so far doing a couple of surveys. Both surveys have been an hour long zoom and been work related, mostly about what software and tools I use. The money has come as gift cards, I got Amazon once and Etsy once.
I have to put new tires on my car. Ugh, when did they start costing so much? That is not how I want to spend almost $1,000.

Leaving for another conference today and I still can’t find my glasses!!! Grr.
I even tried to ask our toddler to help find them. I told her my purple glasses were missing. About an hour later she says mama I found your glasses! I got all excited and she took me to the bathroom. But unfortunately she just found my other old back up pair, whomp whomp. I told her I was really appreciative of looking. But maybe while I’m gone she’ll actually find them!
I’m at a giant indoor waterpark with 4 kids, 2 of whom are not mine (each of mine got to bring a friend) for fall break. There is not enough caffeine for me!

followyourarrow, I hear you on tires. I need new ones before winter, but I am holding out until Black Friday sales and crossing my fingers that there is a good deal somewhere! (Hoping Costco!) I'm just thankful that I don't need them immediately and can hold off another month or so. I'm just hoping the weather cooperates and we don't have too much snowy/icy weather until I get new tires.
Game day for DS (football). Only two more games this season, it's sad how fast it's gone. And then it's on to off-season conditioning and such for baseball. (DS's preferred sport is baseball, and his goal is to be the best catcher in his grade, so he's putting in the work toward that goal.)
I'm so glad it's almost Friday. Work is crazy with trying to survive through multiple concurrent maternity leaves, onboarding a new temp employee to cover for a Europe maternity leave (team member will be out for almost 1.5 years), getting into our busy season, and a lots of org changes on top of all of that.
Has anyone used Nutrafol for hair growth? Did it make a significant difference? I have been losing hair for the last few years, and it's now reached a tipping point where I am embarrassed about how I look and it's keeping me from wanting to do things. I just ordered Nutrafol and am hoping it will help. I have a big work trip in the spring (only the second time I will meet colleagues that I've worked with for 6 years) and I want to feel confident for it.
I also have a doctor appointment next month where I plan to discuss, but I don't have a great track record of doctors taking me seriously, so I'm trying to take some steps on my own too.
wanderingback, that's so cute! I love it when kids try to be helpful. I hope you find your glasses.
This reminded me of when DD1 was little, she used to randomly hide stuff. One time we could not find the remote control for the TV for days! It was driving us nuts. I finally asked DD1 if she had seen it and turns out she had hidden it inside the seat of a ride on toy. She was so proud of it too!

It is usually easier when they have built in entertainment with friends! I hope you all have a blast!
My husband is waiting to hear about a job interview that would be life changing. I’m so anxious. He’s not expected to hear back until next week. I’m crossing all my crossables.
Next week, I have a girls’ trip and I cannot wait!
I have a friend at work who is really good with computers and I brought him my DHs busted laptop. Turns out it just needed a new hard drive so $100 later it is back up and running.
That's amazing because he was wanting a new Mac and that shit is expensive!

Oral minoxidil has been life changing for me. I hated seeing myself in pictures because my hair was so thin in front. My grandma and aunt both have major hair loss and I thought it was just my future, but I’ve been taking minoxidil for 2 years and I’m thrilled.
I also make sure my iron level is good and I’m getting decent nutrition. Minoxidil is free with my insurance and the pills are tiny. Nutrafol was $$$ and big pills.
Thank you dish2501! Did you get the prescription from your doctor or did you use one of the online companies (like Hers)? How long did it take to see results?
Is there any way to shut off the notifications in the lower left corner? I keep getting distracted by things appearing down there - it keeps bouncing between the current temperature and various news headlines. I wouldn't mind it if it just stayed on the temp, but every time it changes it catches my attention. I already went in to the settings and turned off all notifications, but that didn't affect the lower left corner.

I had the same thoughts when I changed mine. I used to pay $400 with my previous car and this new car, same tire size and they are double the price! Oh, and I had to change them at like 40,000 miles when most tires advertise 65,000 miles. Why?? This is false advertising!

Right click on the clock/calendar and then Notification settings. There you can turn them off and a lot of other options.

Ahh, turning off "widgets" did the trick! Thank you!
I hate clothing sizes being so all over the place. I bought a tuckernuck dress 2nd hand and it's about double the size I need. I hope I can just resell for what I paid, but I'm bummed because I really like the pattern.
Has anyone used this coating you can spray on your stainless steel and it is supposed to stop fingerprints? Our dishwasher drives me crazy with all the drips from wet hands opening and closing it:

Relating hard to this one. My Jetta needs new tires, as well as new brake pads before the month ends so it will pass state inspection (due 10/31).
It also needs a $2k replacement infotainment screen, which I'm so salty about. The touch screen / radio / audio / Apple CarPlay / backup camera stopped working in May, and I've been in heavy debate for 5 months about what to do. Do the $2k replacement? Live with it? Just replace the car with something that better suits my needs on the whole?
I was all set to do the last option, and get a Toyota Rav4 Prime (plug in hybrid) but the aggregated pinch of our backyard project going over budget, the prices (omg) of cars generally these days, high interest rates, the beautiful $0 monthly payment I have on current car, its relative low mileage... and I couldn't do it. I just couldn't make it make sense.
I also can't stand not being able to navigate on the fly to all my kids' random sports venues/etc., so we're fixing the stupid thing. But we're going to end up putting $4k into a car that's probably worth <$10k. wtaf. On the bright side I'll still have a $0 payment on the other side, and be committed to keeping it for a good long while.
It bears repeating though. It BOGGLES how expensive cars are these days.

Oral minoxidil and Finisteride. Between the two my hair fall has actually stopped and I’m starting to see some regrowth. It’s a long process though. Just now seeing signs of hope and I started in February.
I have a two-day meeting in Philly Oct 31-Nov 1. I was chatting with a coworker about it. It’s a meeting run by a bunch of old, white men. And we came to the conclusion that it was really shitty of them to pick those dates. Maybe not pick them, but not be willing to move it when many people (mainly younger, female moms) complained about not being home on Halloween. The old men were just like “come to the meeting in costume!” Not. The. Point.
Personally, I’m just going up on Friday, not for Halloween reasons, but for my standing Thursday evening activity reasons. But now I’m spun up on the fact they did it knowing that some of the younger women wouldn’t attend.

I am so mad at myself. I made a huge pot (doubled the recipe) of lasagna soup last night. It was delicious. H took DS to his therapy appointment right after we finished dinner, so I cleaned up myself. I left the soup in the pot to cool, since it was still super hot, before I was going to package it up for leftovers and freeze most for a future dinner.
I took a shower and made a cup of tea. I looked at the pot of soup, made a mental note to not forget to put it away before I went to bed. Planned to do it after I finished my tea. I got into the book I was reading and completely forgot about the soup. Went to bed without putting away the leftovers. Woke up this morning and it was the first thing I saw when I walked into the kitchen. I was so mad. Not only is it a waste of $ (though it was a relatively cheap meal) and food, but it was such a good soup. I was really looking forward to leftovers for lunch today.

Eh I would reheat and eat this.
When DH make pozole, it lives on our stove for days. I could never fit the pot in the fridge.

I had to get new tires last year on a car that I bought new and only had like 25,000 miles on it. I made sure to get ALL the warranty info. for the new tires because I was like, this is ridiculous. Dh's old car that we are letting ds use when he *hopefully* gets his license this summer needs new cars, and we're grateful we have the rest of this year to find a time to get them.

Would also still eat. I might not freeze any of it, but I'd re-eat it for the next few days and throw out what's left when you get sick of it.
My random - I ended a friendship many, many years ago. Long before the term "ghosting" became popular so I never thought of myself in that light. But I realized this week that this is what I did - I had my reasons, I promise - but I'm having weird feelings about it.
On the fun side, I pulled out a new pom pom toy and my almost-16-year-old girl cat is overjoyed. This is her *favorite* toy, ever. She's slowing down so this is just a lovely thing to see, or hear in her case. She carries it around the house, giving this muffled loud cry. Makes me laugh every time.
