I do but I’ve done a lot of in-person banking when my parents both died. I guess I could do it online but the process is so quick in person and I’ve had large checks to deal with.
If your bank is only online, how do you deposit large checks? I have accounts at four different banks and their mobile deposits limits are all pretty low. For example, I sold my dad’s car for around $18,000 and they would only issue a check.
Is mail it, but I’ve never been faced with such a problem. lol
Mine is also USAA. And I’ve never even had a passing thought about it being not secure.
Yes, like others I have a passcode on my phone and I have to log into the application each time.
You are far more at risk by using weak passwords or debit cards in risky areas like gas pumps than you are having a hacker steal your phone or hack into a bank.

I have large amounts wired to my bank account. My grandfather passed away and in lieu of large settlement checks, I opted to have the funds wired to my account. $25 out of a 6 figure check is a small price to pay.

Yes, I do all of my banking electronically. That said, my bank does have a $10K limit on Mobile deposits, so it does seem like at least once a year I need to go in person, but there is a branch near my office, so it's not totally inconvenient.
In early 2020 I was working in a government environment and the bank bigwigs all came in for the day. I introduced myself to my credit union’s highest employees and told them how much I love our credit union. I mentioned how the employees in our local branch were so kind and helpful and they were like “WHAT? You go IN TO THE BRANCH???” They were appalled and I thought it was hilarious. How else would I bank??
Anyway during covid I put the app on my phone and now do all deposits through my phone. I rarely go in… maybe twice a year.
Yes, I have my bank app and a few credit card apps on my phone. All safeguarded by biometrics.
I had to go into the bank a few months ago to deposit a check because the mobile deposit wasn't working when I scanned the check. My Grandma wrote it to DS for his birthday and I think it just wasn't verifying her handwriting. (I didn't try the ATM, since I assumed it would be the same issue). Besides that, I haven't been into a bank in quite some time.
I could deposit checks on my phone but then what do you do with the paper checks?? I do everything but deposit checks on the app. My bank is on the way to daycare drop off so it takes me a couple mins to deposit checks at the drive-through ATM. And Yes, I get a check every quarter from Rakuten $$$.

I hang on to them for a couple weeks to make sure that they clear correctly. Then I shred them.

Also, I was recently watching a documentary about a murder. The person who was killed the police and FBI didn’t know the password to the phone. I guess they weren’t able to get all they needed off the phone. The FBI did just do some random guesses and his password was his birthday so it opened the phone and then they were able to get further evidence off the phone that helped the case.
All that to say that if the FBI couldn’t get in to someone’s locked phone I’m not all that worried about someone stealing my phone, getting my password for my phone and then getting my password to my banking app and then using that to drain my accounts.
Plus if I lost my phone I would likely notice pretty quickly and could be extra vigilant to watch my accounts. I think it’s much more likely that someone could steal my wallet and use my cards directly to buy stuff or get cash. (And people don’t even need actual cards these days to commit fraud).
There's no physical branch of our bank within 1000 miles, so using the app (or I guess you could do everything on a computer?) is a necessity.
Oh, and after we had checks stolen from the mail and someone used the routing & account #'s to start paying their bills, I don't mail personal checks. We had to completely close that checking account and it was a royal pain.
Since we are talking about banking and security, I am going to affirm sent and the ATM not being all that great for customer service. About a year or two ago, we had a saga when my H deposited DD’s cash at our bank’s ATM. I posted about it at the time.
The ATM took the cash but glitched and gave a “come back another time” type of message on the screen. H called the 1-800 number on the bank card and made a report. We **thought** it would be investigated and resolved. Specifically, there would be $208 extra dollars in the ATM and it would be flagged and our report would eventually get it deposited into our account. So, we expected to wait but it would be resolved. Instead, 3 months later we got a letter saying “nope, no inconsistencies in the ATM, you are SOL”.
Turns out, there is a “bypass bin” that exists in ATMs and it requires a manual pull to find the bin and then they found the $208. It worked out once we got the local branch involved to investigate. The lesson we learned is to start local with any problems and to stay vigilant. Which is a good lesson for just about anything.

You call and ask for a temporary increase on the limit.
