Sunday eve random

I totally feel robbed of my weekend since I got sick and planned on drinking while watching football, leaf peaking, pumpkin patch hunting, all the fall things.  But, NO, I got sick and am still sleep-deprived bc my body apparently does not like to sleep anymore so now I'm drinking a gin and tonic even though I feel like I've been hit by a truck and I know I cannot take tomorrow off!

We went to the outlets today to look for a shirt for DH for family pictures. I ended up finding a new wallet at Kate spade. My old one that I’ve had longer than E is in age (so more than 11 years) was coming apart at one of the seams.

The commanders won! Now I’m trying to get motivated to prep for the work/school week. I need to finish up laundry.

I saw my 3 month old nephew today. He is just perfect! DS still has zero interest and played with my brothers dog 😂

We went to the craft show and it went too well because we bought a bunch of stuff.

Our power went out at home again and we went to my dad’s house where we thought it would be super quiet because it’s surrounded by water, woods and farm land but there were two parties going on somewhere and fireworks?! It’s not Halloween yet!

I’m sitting in a different hotel room and ordered Uber Eats and ate it in my bed. It was amazing.

We stopped for dinner on the way home from xc. We went to a trendy-ish taco place at the mall and as oldsters H and I opted for the paper menu rather than the QR code. We both forgot our readers so we were having trouble reading it and the hostess came over and gave us readers she “had behind the hostess counter”. After the meal I brought them back and she said we could keep them. I literally said, “….forever!?!” and she said YES. And we just discovered they have the name of the restaurant on the frame!

So we got delicious food and free readers and now I have taco eye glasses which is really amazing.

ETA: They have a pretty big outdoor area and she told me they also have taco sunglasses behind the counter that you get to keep!

I was up too late last night because the Georgia game started late. Thank goodness we won, because I would have been really cranky to stay up late to see a loss!

Went apple picking for probably the last time this morning. We met up with some friends so the kids had a lot of fun! It was a busy weekend, I'm wiped and excited for bed.

Literally did nothing all day. Then my daughter motivated me to decorate the yard for Halloween. Now I’m back on the couch, about to make a cocktail and watch Sunday night football and baseball.

I was out of town with DD this weekend for a dance convention. Dh was working from home Sat. and Sun., which was fine because ds is 15 and doesn't need much (I had to get him a ride to the football game Friday but that was it). I had VERY low expectations of what dh would do in terms of my usual weekend responsibilities, but he still managed to disappoint.

At least the weekend away was kinda nice. The drive was scenic with all the leaves and beautiful weather, DD had fun, and I even joined in with some of the other dance moms (who I've kinda always wanted to talk to but was too shy) and had drinks at a bar yesterday afternoon and got to know some of them. I'm really grateful to the one mom who is really outgoing who saw me walking past and yelled for me to come join, and then literally gave up her seat and made me sit down, and introduced me to a bunch of the other moms.

I fear for DH’s mental state if the Mets lose tonight. LGM!

We had a great day. We took our boat out for the last time this season. The fall foliage in our area seems a bit more muted than in years past but it was still really pretty and warm in the sun. We had lunch and chilled and listened to music for a couple hours, and then took it out and winterized it. Picked up groceries when I got home, and went for a walk. I had made Italian beef sandwiches in the crockpot today since I wasn't sure how long we'd be gone, so that was an easy dinner and cleanup. Having a maple cinnamon whiskey sour while watching the Steelers now along with one of the maple brown sugar cookies I made yesterday. Fall AF!

I've been sick for 5 days, usually getting 3-4 real hours of sleep in a night. I think I'm finally turning the corner because I only woke up once and then slept another 8 hours today on and off. I'm still tired now, so I guess I needed it.

I'm annoyed because my least favorite coworker was coughing all last week and I assume I got it from him. He could have called into the meetings but he loves interrupting everyone and that's harder from the phone.

I had a nice weekend! I took a personal day on Friday to get a massage and mineral bath. I also did some walking around downtown and just had some me time.

DS had a lot of baseball, but that is wrapping up. We saw DH's sister and BIL. We had a family dinner with my side of the family. Football and baseball games on TV wrapped up the weekend nicely.
