k3am, I have no clue if it is working other than we haven't had a reaction since we started. BUT she wasn't having a reaction every time she ate wheat/dairy as they were very random and far apart. Allergist insists it is those two food items as she ate them before she had all 3 reactions. Allergy testing was inconclusive, and he advised against feeding her lots of dairy and then exercising to see if she had a reaction and then again for wheat. Part of me wishes she would have another allergic reaction (not at a meet) while avoiding wheat/dairy so we can go back to the drawing board. Feeding DD has gotten very complicated and expensive and I'm extremely grateful she eats a lot of foods and has been willing to try new stuff.
twinmomma, it's because you had your kids super young! Most of my friends had a baby after age 35. I don't have a 1-year-old, but still get the preschool milestones as well as the tween ones at the same time, because I had so many kids. My DD turned 12 in August and hasn't gotten her period yet, but I also expect her to be relatively matter-of-fact about it.
Regarding seeing kids' stuff - I think it's really about making an effort. DH and I pretty much never both go to the same kids' event at the same time, because the other one is home with our littler kids. And we do miss stuff all the time. I missed DS1's parent teacher conference last week due to a work conflict. But our kids do see us making an effort to be at their events when we can, and I think that's most important that they feel like we support them.
186momx I find the whole thing odd. When DS had a rash we were trying to get to the bottom of, they basically said with few exceptions, they only ever figure out the cause about 30% of the time, most of the time issues resolve on their own and they never figure out the cause. This was the case for DS with MONTHS of rash. We tried so many tests, elimination diets, etc, and then one day it was just gone.
This just seems so incredibly disruptive to her life for something that can’t even be more than casually correlated as the cause. I’d be inclined to have her have a normal diet on a not important day and see what happens.

I agree generally with this. If I remember correctly, the allergy tests were themselves inconclusive. This is a lot of change and upheaval for something that might not actually be an issue.
But OMG F your entire family for saying an elite athlete is “getting fat.” I’m calling bullshit, sight unseen.
