I loved my belly pillow, and microwaveable hot pad. Peppermint gels to help with digestion Peppermint tea A cozy blanket and comfortable non-slip slippers are always good too. I slept with a pregnancy pillow but a body pillow could do a similar job

The hot/cold pack hysterectomy pillow was the best thing ever! Organic Smooth Move tea was good too because the meds could cause constipation and that was so painful. I think I had to wear compression socks and cozy grippy socks and cozy blankets were good too.
I binge watched a lot of tv. I was too nauseous to really do much of anything else, so you could do a month subscription to some streaming service she doesn’t have or give your login info 😃
I basically lived in Soma Cool Nights night shirts and my Barefoot Dreams soft robe for a while. Someone here recommended a great hot/cold pack that I bought ( www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q5HMD8C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ). I liked having apple sauce around because my throat hurt from the breathing tube. I also bought two body pillows because otherwise I'm a stomach sleeper, so having one on either side of me in bed kind of propped me on my back and woulnd't let me turn too far.

I had one a couple of years ago and got lucky that I didn't need too much other than a comfy pillow, comfy clothes like PJs or a sundress and lots of TV between naps. I *might* say a fun water bottle as I tried to drink a lot of cold water and hot liquid (mostly tea), but I have sooo many water bottles that it'd be a waste of a gift. I think a food gift card is a really nice option to help whenever she's hungry.
The hot/cold pillow might be a good hit. I lived off of a heating pad prior to surgery.
ETA: I never got a pregnancy or side sleeper pillow but I really want one as I'm still a side sleeper. You could probably get one of those as I had trouble sleeping for the first week or so until I felt comfortable on my side, but I think those kinds of pillows can also be $$.
Oh and you're an awesome friend to think of a gift!
