I somehow managed to get coffee down my sweater and a huge spot on my dress. Thankful I've got tide wipes in my desk, but I'm going to smell like coffee all day long.
Something happened and we have spots on the bottom of our pool. DH thinks it's from salt sitting as he was prepping to get it closed. I'm just frustrated because I have always said the pool is his job, but now I'm hoping the spots can be somehow cleaned. Of course he's scheduled the guys to come out and close the pool today. Fingers crossed they say it's NBD.

I was thrifting last night to get some pieces for DS' Halloween Costume and managed to score two pairs of Judy Blue jeans for myself for $10 each. I figured if they sucked, I could just re-donate. I've got to say, they are pretty damn comfy. I thought that I was done with skinny jeans, but these have sucked me back in.
I was looking at my FB memories about 9am, which was when I remembered it was our anniversary.
I mean, I knew it was this week, and we celebrated on Sunday with a cooking class at Sur la Table. So I think I’m OK. But, you know… we have nothing planned for this evening. This is almost 20 years lol

It's me back with another PTA complaint. I have been accused of taking on too much and being a control freak. I finally delegated and things got majorly messed up. Everyone knows I always do it so everyone is coming to me and I have no ability to resolve this issue. This is why I do things myself! I have spent four hours dealing with the spin out of this crud this morning.
ETA: I don't know what happened but half my post went missing lol. Fixed it.

Happy Anniversary rubytue and circa1978! We really don't do anything big for anniversaries, it is what it is. Likely will next year for our 20th, but non milestones eh.
ssmjlm I don't drink coffee, but love the smell. The only candle scent I buy from B&BW is Paris Cafe, so be glad you didn't spill like hot dog water on yourself! They do make salt stain removers, so hopefully that's it.

I am just getting over a cold sore and now am getting a new one right next to it. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow because forever I've gotten a couple cold sores per year, but for the past several months they're practically non-stop. It's not ok! They hurt, they're ugly, and they mean I can't share food/water with L or give him kisses, which is the worst part. If anyone has been in a similar situation and made them stop, I'll happily take suggestions.
The weather has been amazing lately and I've been making a solid effort to be out enjoying it because it's not normally this nice. H and I going for a walk while kid is in dance class on Tuesdays and last night we saw so many people doing outdoor dining to enjoy it as well!
We've now bought 2 pallets of Amazon items and it's really been a fun side hustle for us. It works well with our busy life and it's fun to discover what we get - we've gotten some good items but have also gotten a few things that we couldn't sell - like a light fixture that had a broken globe and one thing that we actually couldn't figure out what it was - I think it was missing pieces maybe but I don't know. We've made enough now that both pallets have been paid for and we still have a good amount of stuff left to sell and that will all be profit. We are doing it out of our garage now but when it gets really cold we'll move inside so we're trying to figure out what will work best.
We thought cheer was wrapping up but the football team kid cheers for is going to playoffs so we have at least one more game. And then competition but that's a whole other struggle LOL.
H and I have counseling tonight and things have been going pretty well but we had a couple "moments" last week that I'm wanting to talk about but I think he's talked out about them...
DH and I have counseling tonight. I'm not particularly looking forward to it, but not for what might be assumed to be a "typical" reason. DH wants to go to a counselor once every quarter-ish, just for a "checkup." I think this is a colossal waste of time and money; for a 90 minute session we spend the first 1/3 just filling our counselor in on what's happened in the past 3 months, and then we have 60 minutes to...what? Try to address anything that's come up in the last 3 months? Or, if things have been going well, we're basically manufacturing things to talk about for the rest of the session. I hate it. Let's either do counseling or not, but not this.

When I was in Poland for a work trip last month, I had cepelinai (zeppelins) at a restaurant there. I cannot stop thinking about how good they were. Through some googling, it seems that they are actually a traditional Lithuanian dish. Unfortunately, where I am, we do not have many restaurants which have cuisine focused on Eastern Europe, so I may need to take a trip to Chicago (probably the closest city with such restaurant options) at some point to get my fill of cepelinai.

I got us & our friends tickets to trans Siberian orchestra. We discussed times. I got the tickets and THEN noticed that I picked the wrong time. I got the 3pm instead of the 7pm. LOL! It’ll be fine, and my friend just laughed about it. I have good friends. Haha.

Have done this exact thing before, although not for Trans Siberian Orchestra.

LOL. Years ago when I was first becoming friends with my now best friend in the area because our kids were becoming besties, we decided to do a meet up for the movies. I suggested an 11 AM movie and we agreed to meet.
Just before 11, I was like, “we are here!” And she was like “we are too!” And I was like, “we are by the escalator!” And she was like, “Escalator?”
And this is why you should also specify the movie theater in addition to the movie date and time. 🤦🏻♀️
It was totally my fault; not hers. So we hopped in the car and drove to her. We missed the first 5 minutes, but it’s the only time in my life I have been grateful previews last 20 minutes. 🤣
We had to buy another round of movie tickets, but oh well.
Do you think those assholes who scream at cashiers feel better when they are done?
This comes from me finally telling the asshole guy screaming at the cashier this AM at the gas station to just leave. The poor girl behind the register was almost in tears and I walked around (probably against the rules of the store but I don't care) and gave her a hug. She was just shaking he was screaming so loud at her.

Any churches near you serving that population? I bet they’d have a festival or take out day. They are pretty common at those!

You’ll get to go to bed at a decent hour now, sounds like a win to me!
I'm taking tomorrow afternoon off to get a haircut and my flu/covid shots, and it's a little ridiculous how much I'm looking forward to it. Might even take a little nap after the vaccines before the kids get home from school. Was planning to WFH Friday in case of vaccine side effects, but I'm scheduled to get a new computer and it's a returning employee's first day back so in the office I will be.
My boss just offered me a last minute trip to Alabama for an industry meeting and DH said no problem, but then I looked a flight times to the tiny airport there and none will work with my gastro appointment on Monday.
My boss said either one of us can go and totally understands how important this follow-up appointment is.
I am bummed because I totally wanted to stop by and say Hi to all the staff I worked with earlier this year when I was back and forth.
A peanut allergy update for Little Kid. I know there are several parents with kids doing OIT, or considering OIT, figure this might be helpful. Little Kid's annual appointment was a few weeks ago. We are in year 3? 3.5? I've lost track, of OIT and at 1.5 teaspoons of peanut/peanut powder a day. Her reactivity numbers have gone WAY down and there's a real possibility that if we get them down to 0 (currently at like .2) that we can leave the epipen and paranoia behind! If we get to that point she won't need to eat peanuts daily (but will still need to maintain some in her diet, just not every day). She has really gotten sick of the peanuts though and we had to try a bunch of different ways to get her to eat it, but have just gone right back to putting it in applesauce. I feed it to her, even though she's 6, because it's the only way to guarantee she eats it anymore. I do goofy things like here comes the airplane and it amuses her enough she doesn't argue about having to eat it. If you're contemplating OIT, even if she never gets those numbers to 0 the peace of mind that comes with knowing a reaction is so unlikely is worth it. If you're in the thick of OIT, keep chugging along! It's so worth it.

My skin is not appreciating the dry air up north and I didn't pack skincare for the dry air. I had to run to CVS last night and grab thicker moisturizer.
For the first time FI is home while I'm gone and he's trying to sleep in bed with the puppies. Normally they cuddle with me, but since I'm gone they think they should cuddle him. He's less than thrilled and sleeping terrible. I said welcome to my world. Although I honestly really miss them and I'm not sleeping great without my babies.
We have some neighbors who annoy us a lot - they seem perfectly nice, they are just have very different lifestyles from us and tend to be outside making a lot of noise on a regular basis - lots of friends over and outside making noise, kids playing outside at 10pm, etc. These were the neighbors who used to have church services in their townhouse. Probably good people, not so good neighbors, especially in an otherwise quiet neighborhood where people live super close together.
Well, today they are outside sobbing and hugging people in our parking lot. I am guessing someone died or something else tragic happened. I cannot deal with people crying without crying myself -so now I feel really bad!

Oooh, they are coming here a couple of days before Christmas and now you've piqued my interest. sofamonkey, glad it worked out anyway!

I got 10 hours of sleep last night and feel like a new woman. Still have the annoying tickle in my throat, but things are looking up. And I’ll be done with my work event around 2 so I’ll time to get a walk in. It’s still hot here (omg why won’t fall show up?!) but it’ll be nice to walk in the sunshine.
emilyinchile, I got cold sores more frequently in college. For awhile, I had prescription for Valtrex pills. If I remember correctly, it was a 4 pill dose. I took 2 pills right away when I felt the tingle and then the next 2 12h apart. I would refill the script as soon as I used them so that I would have them on hand and not have to wait. I also used Zovirax topical cream. It would speed up the healing a few days.
I had a horrible one on my top lip after a nasty cold last year (due to all the nose blowing) and used these patches. They did seem to help, but I would not say they were not invisible. I work in healthcare, so it wasn't out of the question for me to wear a mask the week it was really bad, so I was able to hide it at work with a mask. www.mederma.com/product/mederma-cold-sore-discreet-healing-patch/
