It ended up being a quieter week than anticipated. For various reasons, DD2 didn't have/go to club soccer this week, so that freed up a couple of evenings. Yesterday was nuts with a lot of running around, but DD1 went to her first semi-formal dance with her friends. She looked so beautiful and I felt very, very old!
Today the kids are off from school. DD1 stayed at a friend's house after the dance, so that will be an hour round trip of driving. Then DD2 has a hair appointment and a halloween party, and we need to shop for crafting materials for a big school project due in a week. I need to bake something for the party as well. Tomorrow DD2 has 2 soccer games locally and a 3rd about an hour away on Sunday. In between, we'll probably carve pumpkins and finish Halloween/fall decorating (I'm woefully behind).
I am having a Halloween get together tonight. My neighbor is having a Halloween hayride for little ones. My house us one of the stops. My friends and dds friends are coming over for a fire and chili and will hand out gobs of candy for all the trick or treaters. Thankfully, I get off at 1 today because I need to clean, everyone who gets off that hayride always seems to need to go to the bathroom, so I need to clean all 3. I need to make chili and straighten the porch and garage. Dh needs to mow and get the firewood.
Saturday Dd and I may go to a couple of fall festivals. Or we may curl up and watch scary movies. She has a cold, so we will see how she feels.
Sunday, we are supposed to be getting our high speed internet installed, but I'm not holding my breath. Anyone already installed says it's amazing compared to what we have which is pitiful.
Made it through the insanely busy week! I was in the office with events every day then performances for DD2 every night. Our washer died so laundry is piled up everywhere and the house is a mess because I just haven't had time to tidy. I'm WFH today in sweats and told DH that I will not be leaving the house for any reason, under any circumstances. I plan to fully lump in bed tonight and watch some bad TV to relax. Counting down to 4 PM when I'm done for the day!
Tomorrow morning I'm going to a bungee fitness class with my sister. A new place is opening in town so we're going to go try it out for something to do. Then I'll be tidying the house and relaxing with a fall themed paint by number project I have while DH is at work. Sunday we have a breast cancer walk that work is sponsoring, so DH and I will do that. The weather looks chilly but sunny so it should be a nice day.
DD has both the school dance and a birthday party tonight so she is going to be tired. We have no plans tomorrow which I am very excited about. Sunday DS has his soccer game.
DS played flag football with his friends last night. I am excited that he seems to be hanging out with friends more. They do typically ramp up more in the fall because they play flag football. Spring, his friend plays lacrosse with another friend, so it isn't as much then. He has also gone out to eat twice with his friends and walked downtown. So cute to see him become more independent and making more plans.
DH and DS1 and DS2 got back from their Death Valley trip yesterday afternoon. Seems like they had a really great time and survived some small mishaps, and the long trip with the electric car worked great.
DD had her last regular season flag football game yesterday afternoon for her middle school team and they had to win to advance to the playoffs. They were down by two touchdowns but them her team got two touchdowns, so it was tied, and DD was able to run the ball into the end zone as the quarterback in the last seconds of the game for a win. So very exciting. Of course I brought my two older boys so DH could unpack the car, and my boys ran around trying to kill each other and it was tough for me to actually pay attention to the game. I think they're just "off" in terms of sleep and routine from their trip, so behavior is worse than usual. I am internally congratulating myself for signing DS2 up for a one-day camp today to give us all a break from his insane energy level.
This weekend we have soccer and baseball tomorrow and then DD has 3 softball games Sunday. So the usual stuff. I'm trying to find a babysitter for tomorrow evening so DH can sit and talk to each other over a meal.

My kids were supposed to be off but it’s a hurricane makeup day so they’re at school, thankfully. I have been working all week and yet my to-do list is essentially untouched from Monday because other urgent things cut the line. So I need a full day today.
Busier weekend than usual planned. I am taking the girls up to the Y with some friends this evening to swim, also have to bake some cupcakes for a party , tomorrow DD1 has a maker event at the library, H has plans, and then we’re going to a costume party with the cupcakes. Sunday morning we have a Halloween brunch at another friend’s house.
DD2 decided that she wanted to drop skate and join the mini dance team at school (her sister is on the non-mini version) and while I personally find that kind of disappointing it’s what she wants and it does make this Saturday easier!

This week has been so busy I feel like a chicken with my head cut off. Ds2 had a travel/hotel stay tournament last weekend and ds1 started middle school soccer on top of his club soccer and I’m after my busy season at work but now it’s alllllll the other stuff I have to do that’s been put off to this time. Tonight we have the fall carnival at ds2s school and I’m volunteering for it and also for the Halloween party next week so it’s just a couple more tho ha to add on! Both boys have tournaments this weekend too. I’m also trying to figure out how to start weight loss meds and the best way to go as insurance doesn’t cover anything and my doctor has given me a few options to weigh. (See what I did there?!) At some point I’ll catch up.

DS has his first middle school dance tonight. It's Halloween themed with costumes. We'll probably go to my parents' house on Sunday for dinner. Beau wanted to take his grandson riding tomorrow, but I don't think the weather will be good enough. We're now in the PNW gloomy raining season.
Tonight is a Trunk or Treat at DS’s school. We are hosting a trunk. Or whatever you call it when you decorate your car and hand out candy.
The rest of the weekend is pretty normal. Then I travel next week so it’ll be wacky.
A funny aside, I got a new official title at work. It’s somewhat fancy. But it’s the same job I’ve been doing. I changed my title on LinkedIn and am sitting at around 100 comments congratulating me. Lol. I thought my last title was perfectly fine.

Come join me in central WA state; it has been sunny and 55 degrees for the last week. We don't have a gloomy rainy season here.
DH bday was yesterday but he left right after work to drive to central Oregon to play paintball all weekend. This means DD and I have girls weekend. I have tax school all day Saturday (s-corp line by line) and DD is having a chill home day with the dog. Sunday will be full of all the weekend normal stuff minus laundry as I did that Friday.
So far it's not rainy while I'm in class which sucks as the weather gods said rain today. I hate being in class when it's sunny and nice out.
We are having a lazy day. It is so needed because in the last 7 weeks we have hosted 4 times, 2 friends and 2 family.
DD had a dance and a birthday party in one night and lost her tooth. Poor thing is exhausted. DS has recovered from Washington DC but was pretty tired from that.
I forgot when I posted earlier that DD had a Halloween party last night. It didn’t start until 8:00 so we got home a little after 10:00. DD is generally in bed by 9:00 or 9:30 at the absolute latest, so she was really tired. So was I.
Today DD has her long field hockey practice for her club team, and Wednesday is her last game at school. She’s sad her school season is ending.

I'd love to move there! I'd probably pick the Ellensburg area. I've always loved that area since I was kid and we're in the Cle Elum area close to every other weekend during the summer for riding. But I'm stuck in the gloom and rain for my family and job.
