Guys. DS had his first quarter award ceremony this morning and he got high honors!!! I've shared his story of a global developmental delay and lots of therapies over the years. This boy is absolutely incredible.

blondemoment123 I'm so proud of him on your behalf, that is wonderful! Stories like this make me happy as I'm dealing with a 4th grader with significant learning challenges.
Today would have been my 11th wedding anniversary, but here we are just a couple of weeks from the court date that should be the end of our marriage. Our wedding was on a Friday like today, and it was clear and cold just like today. I thought I might feel sad, but his behavior has been so abhorrent over the last couple of weeks that all I feel is thrilled that I'm not celebrating being married to him today. I woke up in a good mood, found myself dancing a little to the music at Orange Theory, and plan on continuing to have a great day.
I cleaned out my in box this morning. That felt good. Filed away a bunch and deleted a bunch.
My kid has decided to part with a bunch of her build a bear stuff, so I put it on buy nothing hoping to split it between a few people. The one rule is don't PM someone who posts, but sure enough I got a woman PMing me right away asking for the whole lot. Just comment on the photos like the other people did.
Jury duty today! I loaded up my Kindle last night so hopefully I can get some reading done. I’m in the quiet room and someone is snoring. Maybe I should have brought a pillow instead.
I got a new laptop at work this morning, and transferring to the new one went suspiciously smoothly. It's government IT, I'm used to this being a struggle. I don't trust it.
So far I'm not feeling too bad post-covid shot, just a little achy and tired. I learned yesterday that the Moderna brand name vaccine is called Spikevax- what focus group was like "yes, that sounds great!" when asked how they felt about that name?
ssmjlm, I need to clean out my inbox too, it is way overdue. Hoping to find time around the holidays to work on that!
DS's football team ended the season yesterday 8-1. He enjoyed it, and I think we're all a bit sad to see it end.
I'm having lunch today with a friend/former coworker, so I'm looking forward to that.
I don't have much in the way of plans this weekend, which I'm looking forward to. I have chores around the house to catch up on, as well as a stack of books waiting to be read. DH and I are going to dinner on Saturday. DS is going to a friend's birthday party/sleepover, so she will be gone Saturday afternoon - Sunday morning.
blondemoment123 that makes me so happy! I am struggling with my son right now who is performing "well below grade level" which makes me so sad. I hate to think that he is already disliking school and that it is so challenging. I can only imagine how proud you must be!
starburst604, I am glad you are so close to divorce! His antics are just the worst and I am so thrilled for you to be moving on.
starburst604, you reminded me that our anniversary is today, 16 years. I mean, I did know it was today, but forgot when I was posting.
I have a celebration of life for my coworker tonight and family photos tomorrow evening (please let the dog behave enough for at least a couple decent pictures), so nothing exciting for this one.

Happy Anniversary! I want to have photos taken of me, DD and the dogs but I don't know how to get them to pose nicely!! The only thing I can think of is to do outdoor photos at a park or something and take them early and run them around so they'll be more chill. I just want to put cute holiday scarves on them and have them both sit nicely which is NOT easy with them.

I picked the last session of the day and emailed the photographer and was upfront "my dog is an Aussie and kind of a PITA" and she said no problem and is bringing her husband so we can get a few photos of us too.

About three weeks ago I showed my husband a house that would be perfect for his mom. She complains about her current house a LOT, and she's been looking off and on for years, but has never found anything better and in her price range. I kept asking him if he showed her the house and he always told me no. Tuesday morning I texted her the zillow link and yesterday she signed the contract on the house. Guess I picked a good one!

I feel this so hard.
I just got an email that we are having a spirit week at work. It’s just like the school spirit weeks y’all complain about so much. Lordy me.

I worked for about an hour this morning, and now I have the rest of the day off. I'm going to be running around doing errands and prepping for a little kids Halloween party I'm throwing tomorrow. I already have the eggs stuffed for the egg hunt and am baking a couple of things now. I know I'm going to do a lot of prep and then the kids will just run around like crazy and ignore all of the stuff I have planned hah!
The town dug up our front yard to check the pipes this morning since our house is old, and we got the all clear that they aren't lead yay!

starburst604, I look forward to seeing a picture of you when your divorce is final a la Nicole Kidman! (I wish I knew how to insert photos; hopefully you know what picture I'm referring to!)
My sister got an 8 week old shih tzu puppy yesterday! Apparently someone she knows got it first, but their baby had an allergy to it so they had to rehome right away. It's so cute! I met it on video, since she lives in TX. I am really glad it is not MY puppy, but I wish I could snuggle it! It's super tiny, like the size of a hand.
This weekend is going to be very low key, which I am excited about. We are going to vote, and I signed up to call people to "cure" their ballots, which I guess means calling to straighten out problems that would cause their ballots to be rejected. This sounds like something I won't mind doing, so hopefully it goes well and I can do more of it. I can't believe the election is so soon. I am working as an election judge, so I also need to start thinking about what I'm going to prepare food-wise since I have to be there for 15 hours and can't leave!

I have no plans this weekend which is perfectly fine with me. I've already made my dinner plan for next week and placed my order for grocery pick up tomorrow so I'm feeling quite accomplished. I really need to do a deep clean that includes walls and baseboards and what not, but I so don't feel like it. Maybe I'll do that on Sunday and try to come up with something fun to do tomorrow.
PSA, if you have debilitating brain fog and fatigue, don’t discount a low iron and B-12 possibility even if you just tested a month ago. Speaking from experience.
I am going for another infusion next week and will start B12 injections. I even inquired to one of my doctors last month about HRT, because I thought it could be menopause related.SMH She shut it down immediately based on my medical history. I just went to my hematologist and lo and behold it’s my iron again. Glad it is a simple thing, though.

sju, thank you for sharing your experience. I have had brain fog the last year or so, and chalked it up to perimenopause, but didn't consider other possible causes. At my next doctor appointment in a few months, I will ask to have a blood panel test done since I can't remember the last time I've had one do (seemingly no reason to).

My friend asked if I wanted to see a band at a winery tonight. I was non committal because Friday's are for cuddling up on the couch, but the show ends at 9. And the grilled cheese truck will be there. This place knows their target demographic! (but 9 does seem a bit early-they could've pushed it to 10)
I voted this morning and our library parking lot felt a little bit like Costco due to the volume of traffic coming and going. I’ve been really discouraged and anxious this week after seeing the number of signs in my little red suburb and talking to a few friends that have fallen for some of the more extreme propaganda, but the MAGA supporters in the parking lot weren’t nearly as overt this year so I’m going to focus on that instead.
@@ DS has an award ceremony this afternoon which I’m able to attend since I’m on vacation this week. I’ve done a few projects here and there, but otherwise I’ve been a complete slug this week and I love it. I could get used to this!

I WFH today and flexed my start time a bit so that I could take Cookie for a long-ish walk guilt-free mid-morning. And now I want to quit my job so I have time to train my dog and be relaxed and balanced instead of being a rushed stress machine. If only money weren't so useful!

Why does my iPhone camera make me look so terrible? I’m dressed nicely and I thought my face wasn’t THAT bad, but now I’m rethinking all of my life choices.
I went down the rabbit hole of looking for a job today. Some interesting and different things out there finally. Unfortunately my resume did not get updated today like I'd planned. The career counselor suggested a few changes. Does anyone need an IT "gets it done gal?"
I went to see the Air Force Singing Sergeants and Concert Band earlier this week. I highly recommend it--they played classical, classic pop (think Elton John, Billy Joel), the usual patriotic songs, and a few surprises. I think my favorite was a Latin contemporary classic piece. I also found out where my tax dollars were going. The concert was at one of the local high school's performing arts center. It's better than the big performing arts center in the county that hosts national acts.

Anyone from San Fran? I'll be staying in Union Square next week and people are saying I can't walk around near my hotel. Is this true? I love going for walks when I travel for work.
