Speaking of which - I finally realized that my pen hatred stems from being a lefty. All the pens my mom loves’ becasue they write so smoothly’ when you drag them across the page like a righty does, dig into the paper when you push the across the page like a. Lefty, and they smear.
So what happens is, every time I go grocery shopping I take my list and the pen that I wrote it with, so I can cross things off. And then I just let the pens accumulate in there until my purse is filled with nothing but 900 pens and my wallet.
And then I clean them all out and the cycle starts again.

Yes, although I can’t remember the last time I needed it. Anyplace I’ve needed a pen has one for me to use. But if I were to take it out, I’d invariably need it the next day.

If you ever want an app solution for a grocery lists, Listonic is great.

Interesting! I’m a lefty and don’t really have complaints about ink smearing. I don’t think I make as much skin contact with the paper as others though. I have a weird thing against pencils unless I have to use them and then they must be the mechanical kind.

I have a pink leather pouch which I bought for pens and pencils. I have it in my leather backpack, which I use to go to and from work. If I have just going out, I carry a small cross body and I don't have space for a pen in there.
I’ve happened to have a pen in there before, but generally, no.
I’m also a lefty. Pens don’t smear for me because I write with my hand all scrunched up and weird so it’s basically ‘below’ what I’m writing, rather than dragging across it. I’ve had people tell me, wow, that looks really…awkward…, but I call it a win. My cursive is pretty terrible, though.

ooooo!, nice! I bet you can write on dry erase boards. Or as I know them - disappearing ink boards.
On a related note, my DH has a favorite pen style and carries them in his front pants pocket, lining them up with the clip-forward on the pocket. We joke about whether it is a one-pen, two-pen or three-pen day.
I used to when I carried a purse. Now I use a clutch wallet with a crossbody strap, so no space. I do have one in each car and my backpack that I usually take with for the kids. So I probably have one nearby 75% of the time.
If I have my big purse, yes...that thing is like Mary Poppins bag
My daily purse is a small cross body and only holds a few things - not that 1 pen would be too much, but I would probably put it in there without a cap and end up drawing on or stabbing myself.
I always have a few - I have s waterproof pouch full of all my random stuff (hand sanitizer, chapstick, etc) and always have a few pens in there. People around my on international flights always love me because I lend out my pens for the forms lol
Only when I am going somewhere where I think I will be filling out a form or taking notes. Too many ink disasters and I don’t use them enough to warrant a special pouch
