On a related note, my DH has a favorite pen style and carries them in his front pants pocket, lining them up with the clip-forward on the pocket. We joke about whether it is a one-pen, two-pen or three-pen day.
My dad always has a pen and highlighter in his shirt pocket. And he always wears shirts with a front pocket! He also always has a pocket knife, chapstick, advil, and fingernail clippers. And sometimes a mini flashlight. If there’s ever a zombie apocalypse, he’s the one you want to find yourself with.
I always have a couple of pens in there, due to shopping and trivia as jinkies and lostrn mentioned.
sonrisa, I'm also a lefty, and I love Papermate pens. When I find a good pen that writes smoothly, I hoard them. My handwriting on my smartboard is sometimes a challenge.
Speaking of which - I finally realized that my pen hatred stems from being a lefty. All the pens my mom loves’ becasue they write so smoothly’ when you drag them across the page like a righty does, dig into the paper when you push the across the page like a. Lefty, and they smear.
Yes! This is why I hate gel pens. Everyone raves about them, but they always "skip" for me. Like I'm writing and the ink runs out in the middle of a letter. I always wondered why this kept happening so one day I looked it up. Pens were designed to be dragged across the page like righties do and not pushed across the page like lefties do. Also, the smearing lol.

I almost always have a pen because I usually carry a notebook with a handy pen loop. I love this thing, it is one of the best things I've purchased in the last couple years.

Two things I always have in my small crossbody in addition to my wallet: a pen and a small bottle of hand sanitizer. Thanks to the pandemic for making me want to have my own pen to use, and always have hand sanitizer available.

Always a pen in my purse. I'm a leftie and I get the smudge all the time too. Love to find pens that don't and hoard them. Also don't like to pay for pens so most of mine come from trainings and have mental health facilties on them.
I had to think twice what a pocket book is, lol. That's a purse, right? eta: Nevermind. I see "handbag". Random: I don't use pocketbook or handbag to describe a purse. Must be #regional
