I woke up to a gush of blood because my period showed up a week early at 6am. Periods are fucking awful. I'm scheduling a consultation to talk about an ablation. I'm so tired of bleeding every month.
FWIW: I currently have an iud. It doesn't actually make the period stop, just 99% of the cramps. Due to my seizure meds all other BC is out.

macmars45 I hope you are a candidate and that it is successful for you. An ablation has been one of the greatest gifts I gave myself. Had mine in 2015 and no periods since then. Adios tampons and pads!
Update, sort of, on my sister with liver failure: she was moved to ICU, and started dialysis (liver, I assume - no word on her kidneys these days) after docs noticed she was speaking incoherently. On a feeding tube because she can’t hold anything down, but that’s expected to be temporary. BIL reports she seems better after dialysis but he’s not giving us any info re: potential for transplant.
I suspect he might be in some denial; this sucks so much. I appreciate all the support and information sent my way earlier.
I don’t get shipping & delivery these days. You’d think with all of the improved services and metrics it would be much easier to receive things quickly. I redeemed some credit card rewards points on Sunday for e-gift cards. The shipping time was 7-10 days. Huh?? 🤔

I’ve spent the last 3 days in Washington DC with 8th graders. I got home late last night. Today my DH has to work and both my kids are sick. This sucks!

I hate my primary bedroom closet with its sliding doors that are always off their track and the closet in general is very bare bones. This morning I decided I’ve had enough of it and that I’m going to sell my wedding rings and put some $ toward a closet reno. I posted on the local FB moms group asking for recommendations and several people recommended a carpentry business owned by a mom whose kids go to DD’s school. I reached out to her and she’s coming to look at the closet next week. Excited to support a local mom and for a more functional closet! I looked at her IG and she does just what I have in mind with taking the doors off the tracks and repurposing them into doors that pull open, then building some shelves and drawers into the closet.

My friend moved into a gorgeous apartment about three months ago and while I’m thrilled for her, it’s a 6th floor walk up and omg I never want to visit with her! This is the second time in a month that when we plan on hanging out, I offer up my home or Starbucks, or a movie, or an eatery. Or…. or… or…
I know she has to make the trek at least twice daily, but uggghhh. I would never lose a friendship over stairs but no elevator is fucking ridiculous.

I remember when I first moved to NYC and looking for an apartment, and the best advice I got was that I will regret getting a walk up (more than 2 floors).

I lived for years in a 3rd floor apartment and can attest that carrying groceries up was a bitch and it wasn’t fun to manage when I had foot surgery. Sixth floor would be a hard pass!!
H was supposed to go fishing today, and I was looking forward to a day to myself. But he slept in until noon. So that didn’t happen. And then, my “I’m going to spend all day sewing” plan also failed. I have only myself to blame. But it’s noon, and I haven’t started.
Tomorrow is a fencing tournament, I’m going as support for friends. Technically I’m bringing my gear and will be available to be a warm body if it ends up with enough no shows to lose the rating. But that looks doubtful.
We went to a fiber arts festival this morning, went to a bakery and got castella cake and milk bread and now am picking up kimbop so I’m calling this weekend a success early. Maybe bad on the wallet but successful!
in happier news, a comic I really respect offered me a guest spot on his show tonight. As a guest, I only get 5 to 7 minutes. This is my own dumb fault, because when he asked me how many minutes I could do, I undermined myself and said 10 to 15. In reality, I probably have a solid 25 or so, and I realized after the fact that he wanted me to feature and do a set that long.
If I had been a male comic, I would’ve responded with 45 minutes, lol.

I'm so annoyed that when I went for my annual with my PCP last week and asked if there was anything to do about my heavy bleeding (without going back on BC), she said no and I just have to live with it. Why didn't she bring this up?? Do I need to talk to a GYN?
My tubes are already removed so I just want it all to stop!

I would go to gyn. Mine did an ultrasound to make there nothing else was wrong and then I had an ablation in 2022.
Every time a friend in their 40s talks about heavy periods I tell them to go get one.
