This is a silly question but we have always lived in an old house with storm windows you have to pull down in winter.
My parents’ house was built in 2012 and doesn’t seem to have them. Are they not used anymore? Am I somehow missing something?
My mom saved so much minutia about the house building process but nothing about the windows that I can find. I can’t ask them for obvious reasons but I’m trying to get the house ready for winter.

No storm windows on newer construction!
Thank you! I clearly have not kept up with innovations in window technology lol
I have one Christmas gift purchased! When we were killing time at Walmart today before DS’ dentist appointment, he came upon this Grinch squishmallow that he really wanted, so because I figured I’d just end up back at the store later to get it, I told him I’d get it now and put it away in Santa’s secret hiding place until Christmas, and he was ok with that.
Please tell me, what is it like to live in a non-swing state? Do you have normal TV commercials and normal mail?
I cannot overstate how toxic and upsetting these ads are. It’s stomach churning. There literally aren’t any other ads. It’s non-stop geyser of anxiety.
I don’t live in a swing state but am in a smaller city with this strange market where the ad space is cheap but reaches a bunch of people. So, I’ve seen lots of ads (especially in past years when we had cable and not streaming, like now). I just remember it being relentless and opposing ads back-to-back. And they all seemed so bad.
I will concede that I’ve heard how BAD it is in swing states right now and I really can’t even image the half of it. I really can’t. I saw that ABC ran a disclaimer that they were legally required to run a campaign ad … and I won’t say of what images.
I live in a non-swing state (MA) but we are close enough to NH that we get ads on TV. I mute the TV when commercials come on anyway. They are so awful, so negative, I think they are very stressful. We don't get many mailers.
However, it is pretty demoralizing to feel like your vote doesn't matter. I've done my part, but I still feel very anxious about the election. And it sucks that none of the candidates come here so I don't even have an option to attend a Harris rally, which I would really love to be a part of. I feel ignored. I wish we'd switch to the popular vote. It really sucks that the election is decided but so few states.
I am south of Boston and we get the NH governors commercials nightly when watching our local stations. It's so odd.
I live in NH and every morning DD and I count down the days that we don’t have to see those ads anymore.
statgirl , I've never NOT gotten a callback. So far, so good -- just dense tissue.
At this point now they schedule my mammogram and ultrasound back to back, and insurance approves it. I did the callback routine starting at 35 (I'm now 42).

We only have streaming services, and not many with ads, but I wouldn't know an election is going on from our tv ads. I see Kamala content on IG, but I think only because I follow her. The only real source of texts and mail is if you donated to a campaign and now are on every single damn list to try to get you to donate more.

Hmm, I’m in NJ. I haven’t watched tv with commercials in a few years (we cut cable and only stream and pay the extra for no ad streaming) and most of my mail goes straight in the trash just glancing through to see if there’s anything legit. 99% of my mail is junk mail and there’s always a large chance I’ll miss legit stuff. I literally walk my mail right to the recycling bin. So I actually haven’t noticed if I get campaign stuff in the mail…
