I’m feeling bitter and hurt by the arrest in celebrity OD arrest. The loss of life is not okay and I do feel deeply for their families. It doesn’t negate my feelings about how my cousin’s death was handled.
My cousin was tossed from a moving vehicle and left in a ditch. He was not perfect, was a drug addict in and out of jail. He was still our loved one. He had a large family who loved him and misses him terribly. His death was ruled a drug overdose. The people he was with will never see a jail. They will never be held responsible or required to tell the police who gave J the fentanyl. There was no investigation. The detectives didn’t give the impression they cared. They just say another addict.
Liam Payne and Matthew Perry had arrest before their bodies were laid to rest. I just pray these men who have lost the same battle are setting precedent for how drug overdoses are handled.

mysteriouswife I am really sorry for what your cousin experienced. Several years ago, I was with my kids and we saw a man and his bicycle pushed from a moving pick up truck. I called the police and pulled over. He was either intoxicated or on something else. But I was shocked by how the responders reacted. They didn’t show him kindness and when I expressed concern they basically told me “hey if you haven’t noticed he’s messed up” and I was like and so what…he has just been thrown from a moving vehicle.

I wish empathy was a required emotion we are given and never lose. I know first responders have a difficult job and become desensitized to things. I don’t want to blame the person. I blame the system.
