Friday: Off Sat.: Co-lead the short distance no-drop gravel ride for my bike club's fall picnic--on Obie the ebike Sunday: State Cyclocross Championships. Category 3 (experienced racers but not pro level): 4th, Masters 40+ Women: 3rd, and Single Speed Women: 3rd, so 2 podium places!
I haven't gotten back on the horse post marathon yet (planning a run today). I ran errands on the cargo bike with DD Saturday but that's all aside from walking the dog.
Fri: 45 min strength Sat: 18 mile outdoor bike (probably the last one until next year) Sun: 20 min Peloton cycle and some easy jogging on the treadmill
Sat - did the 3k course walk-through with my DD for her XC race
Sun - tested the waters of running the tiniest bit, running alongside my DS as he learns to ride a bike
But so far that's really it since MCM.
Related, if anyone has any tips on the bike riding thing, I'm all ears. He mastered the balance bike and long glides; what he's struggling with is pedaling. His bike (DD's old one) has coaster brakes, and he keeps pushing back instead of forward. We are all so so so frustrated.
Susie, we had a rough go of trying to teach DS to ride a bike. I finally outsourced it to a bicycle school and he was riding within 45 minutes. I think having someone other than us leading the charge helped with everyone's frustration.
DD on the other hand taught herself on the sidewalk while I WFH upstairs this summer lol.
Friday - had a spectacularly self inflicted run fail where I set off for my 10 miler in the pitch black, my light died a quarter mile in, so I circled back and couldn't find A SINGLE OTHER HEADLAMP IN THE GODDAMN HOUSE. (we own 5 more of them) I wasn't willing to carry a flashlight for 10 miles (sun wasn't to rise for another 2+ hours, no moon) so I angrily went back to bed in a snit, was in a shittass mood the whole rest of the day.
Saturday - walked 22,000 steps doing kid stuff on very hilly terrain and decided THAT WAS ENOUGH WORKOUT. My legs were so so tired.
Sunday - rest
back to the actual plan this week! I also bought myself two more backup headlamps. Because I still can't find them. I found the kid's headlamps, and MH's eventually (which is good because we needed them for saturday). But can't find either of mine.

Ditto the REI classes, but before that, can you rig him a little bike trainer? (I.e. suspend the back end with something. Its easy if you have training wheels, harder without). Then you can actually guide his foot till he gets the hang of the motion.

Ooh cool idea re: little trainer set up. I am pretty sure we have the training wheels for the bike in a box in the garage somewhere. DD never used them, but they might help DS get the hang of pedaling, even out on the street so he can learn one thing at a time.
