October reading - Full series re-read of the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik. Always recommend forever and ever. 5* Wild Robot - recommend if you're looking for a book for your kids! Hoping the movie is good. 4* Happiness Falls - It's good. Not amazing. Very sad. Was for bookclub, and I think it's a good choice for that. not my thing. 3* The Naturalist Society - for me this was an amazing book. Just very well suited for some of my niche book loves, a cozy hug of a book. 5* The Daughter's War - enjoyed this a lot. violent fantasy with very cool female characters and creepy AF bad guys. 4* A Psalm for the Wild-Built - this was lovely. Thoughtful, atmospheric, loveable. Also short. 4*
Goal - Goodreads has me at 68/100, which is behind pace, but doesn't include any re-reads, audio books or physical books. Just kindle reads. At some point I need to at least add the last two categories in and decide if I'm counting re-reads.
Finished: Redshirts by John Scalzi - 4* The premise was better than the writing but I really liked it. Force of Nature (Aaron Falk #2) by Jane Harper - 4* Ushers by Joe Hill (Kindle Short) - 4.5* House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland - 4.5* This was sitting on my Kindle forever and I am glad I finally got around to it. A creepy and somewhat unique fantasy novel. Paladin's Faith (The Saint of Steel #4) by T. Kingfisher - 5* Excellent as always. I need the next book in the series to come out asap. Weyward by Emilia Hart - 2* This was terrible. I'm not sure how it gets a lot of positive reviews but perhaps people are way better at suspending disbelief than I am.
