I don’t know anything about these but DS wants one for Christmas. He has a PS5. Is there a brand that goes better with a PS5 and are there only certain games that you can use the VR with? If yes, can you recommend some appropriate for a 13 yr old?
My son got an Oculus at 12 and still uses it weekly at 16. He's progressed from single player games to group games (plays golf with friends mostly now). When he was 13, he liked Gorilla tag, the Climb one (forget the name), Jurassic World and the boxing one.

We have an oculus. My understanding is that you used to need a Facebook account to get games, but now you need a meta account. Not sure if that’s still true.
My son has the PS5 one (he says it's the PSVR2). The games he likes for it are Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2, Horizon Call of the Mountain (that came with ours in a bundle), and Beat Saber. You can play all games with it even if they aren't VR games, it just looks like a TV screen inside the goggles. He sometimes plays on it while we are watching TV, and he's off to the side waving his hands around.
My H heard me asking my son about the games and he says if you have a gaming PC, get the Oculus. That's the one he has. If you not, then go with the PSVR2 to go with the PS5.
If you get the oculus/metaquest/whatever it’s called now, if it’s in your budget and you want to splurge, get the extended battery pack. Not for the battery life, which I think is fine, but because it makes the headset fit SO MUCH BETTER and distributes the weight so my forehead doesn’t end up so smushed.
We’ve had every version since it was released and the whole family enjoys it at varying intervals.
