When my aunt passed away in 2023, we found this huuuuge manila folder full of printed and highlighted articles about how awful trump is.  All from his presidency up to the point she got sick.  It was so on brand for her (a journalist).  We called it her burn book.

When my mom had brain cancer Trump was president and we went to all these appointments where they would ask her name, the date, where she was and who the president was etc and she refused to even say his name lol She would tell them “that man” and then explain that she didn’t acknowledge him as her president so they could ask another question.

maudefindlay , I have no idea. In his explosion this morning, he was mad bc I kept telling him to do the wrong thing that would never ever fix it. The thing I was telling him? To put in a work order today so that when the office opens tomorrow, ours would be first on their list.

What he really wanted for me to take it all over and just do it. And normally I would bc even though he’s capable, fuck if I want to suffer bc he’s so slow at it, lol. But I’m going out of town (my flight leaves in an hour), so he HAS to deal with it which means the place needs his name and number.

Anyway, I’m having a mimosa and not worrying about it, lol. It’s literally not my problem again until Friday.

My school girl’s volleyball team made the playoffs, and the game is today. But it costs $30 for me to take my two kids for 50 minutes.

That’s an absurd amount of money for HS sports.

I’m going to a foot massage place in about an hour! I’m SO ready to relax!!

DH got the electrical work done yesterday while the kids and I were at the bazaar. He’s almost done with the drywall, except the laundry room. We’re waiting on one plumbing thing to be done first, then we can finish that room. I’ll likely start the mud/tape on the rest of things this afternoon. It’s a 24 dry time, and I get done early Mondays & Tuesdays, so I should be able to paint by next weekend!! SO excited! We should have the house done a bit before Christmas!!

It was fun! It was a set question, and it was set up like speed dating where they rotated between people so they were asked a few different questions overall. I think it was a good experience - it's not often we get a chance to hear feedback on our interview answers!

I was influenced by Tacocat and tried an orange theory class yesterday. Then immediately followed it with a 6 mile hike.

I am not in good shape and today I feel like I'm going to die. I had intended to go on a bike ride but it's all I can do to go up and down steps today.

I did sign up for 8 classes/month at orange theory though. It wasn't my favorite workout ever, but it's extremely convenient, requires zero thinking on my part, and is undoubtedly effective. I'm hoping it will help me get back into a good workout routine.

Yeah the day after my first workout was rough too. I did my second class on Friday and was ok yesterday. I signed up for the same reasons you did. I like the every class is different too.

Thank you. 💙 He died last night. I love him immensely, but he had no quality of life left and I’m so glad he won’t have to live under a second Trump presidency.

Today I learned it was too early for me to interact with the general public. It's 70 degrees and Christmas music is blasting in all the stores and I can't look anyone in the face. I hate Christmas under normal circumstances and I definitely don't feel festive at the moment.

Yesterday, the kids, H and I all went to the Academy of Natural Sciences. Then we all went to our friends' new house. Yall they have the EXACT kitchen I want. So now i kind of need an new plan. While we were talking, my H brought up this house he saw online. An old victorian that was going for ~200k, in nowhere NJ. He keeps bringing it up and I keep saying "theres a murder basement, its unlivable. There's something wrong with it." And our friend said, well you could buy it and fix it up, are you handy. MOTHERFUCKER said yes, omg. I excused myself and ran the water so I could cackle in peace. He...is not handy in the least. He fucks every job he tries to do up. omg. I was impressed with my restraint

I hate women’s clothing. I bought two pairs of the exact same jeans, same size, same brand, same cut just a different color. Only one of them fits. So frustrating!

We grabbed take out teriyaki and went to our friends' house last night to hang out with them and another friend. We just ate and talked nonsense for about an hour. Then we had a bunch of leftover Halloween candy and watched the movie Penelope (from 2006). It was good to just sort of unplug, watch some gentle fantasy with a good cast, and ignore the world for a little bit. I highly recommend it.

H and I have been watching Ted Lasso every night. Five stars; highly recommend. If it weren't for the kid we'd be binging it during daylight hours this weekend.

Pretty relaxing day today. Slept in, had breakfast with H, showered, and went to go get DS from my in-laws. We hung out at his aunt's (she does Sunday lunch every week) and chatted with family for like an hour. Came home, picked up groceries, and I went for a long walk in the rain. It was pretty chilly and miserable but I needed to move. Spent a few hours under a blanket afterward and then made steak, baked potato, and Caesar salad for dinner.

I feel like I could go to bed already.
