I have several Coach purses that I plan to get rid of primarily because I stopped carrying purses a couple years ago. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the effort to try and sell them or if I should just donate.
A couple things to note: They all came from the outlet store While the styles are pretty classic they are of the large logo era (the large logo over everything is the main reason I question).
Is it worth my time to list them for sale anywhere or are they too dated?
Re sale will depend a lot on the type of bag - coach outlet does sell some out of season etc coach bags, but it also sells bags specifically made for the outlet (so a different quality in terms of materials and craftsmanship etc - they are all official coach brand though). If it’s an outlet designed piece the re sale won’t be as good. I would do some searches of your specific bags and see how they are doing on the resale market right now to give you an idea.
If they don’t sell or you don’t bother to try to sell them, you might feel better about doing a donation if you make the Coach bags (1-2) a gift basket Prize. Fundraisers are always looking for donations of gift baskets (or items to put in gift baskets) for events and all sorts of things. I think vintage Coach would be really cool.

Coach is back and I’m excited because I’ve always loved the plain leather coach bags. I’m so jealous of people who find them at vintage stores and clean them up!

Sounds like that would be a hot item for sure. My 16 year old carries my old C-logo bag that I bought around 2005, and her friends are JEALOUS. They have other little ones like it, but the fact that it’s “vintage,” and has the c print all over makes it “cooler,” in their eyes

Definitely try Poshmark!
Same, I’ve always liked their leather bags. I was just wondering the other day if my 2010 leather purse would be vintage now. 😂

Well this is good to know. I won a really pretty leather Coach bag at Bingo a couple of years ago, but it's not my style so it's just been sitting in the closet. I'll have to see if I can found out what it goes for in the resale market.

Vintage coach rehab was my pandemic hobby but I haven’t looked for anything in probably 2 years. Just checked eBay and prices are easily double so it seems like a good time to sell!

Mercari and I think poshmark will let you look at sold listings to get an idea of pricing.

Did you rehab anything satin? I have one where the exterior is satin and when I pulled it out of my closet I noticed several stains. I don’t know what they are because I don’t think they were there when I put it in my closet. Any idea what I can use to try and get them out?
No liner = old school vintage leather. Those seem to be the ones with the highest relative resale value. Plus they’re pretty indestructible and very easy to rehab! I recently saw two hip-looking gen Zers admiring each other’s Willis bags - lol!

I did rehab satin but not Coach. It was a 1940’s beaded clutch with a stained satin liner. Also it smelled like old people - lol. I suggest googling it, honestly, because the treatment depends on the type of stain. Even if it’s a mystery, you can usually tell if it’s oily or waxy or dirty or whatever. Be gentle and patient; you’d rather repeat cleanings on a spot than overdo it and damage the fabric.
Also - a straight vodka spritz will knock out smells! (Again, gently and patiently 😊)
