We sled allllll winter long and these go the fastest and hold up so well.
ETA: we also have the LL bean tube, but the kids always choose the above style instead because it goes way faster.
Is this long enough for a teenager?
absolutely. Their legs hang off the back but its fine. We have 4 of these sleds and they are shared between kids aged 7-16. I use the ll bean tube because it is too fast on the others lol.
If you have a Sierra near you, they are usually on sale there this time of year

Agree with pp. My teens use those. Our dogs have bitten chunks out of them as they chase my kids down the hill, but they still work lol. We also have had the standard plastic saucers and the longer plastic ones in the same shape as these through the years, but these have been the favorites as they got older.
We also have snow scooters, and those are a hit as well if the kids are dare devils and you have good hills for it with a good place to 'land' (mine land on our driveway which is usually shoveled already so not great). My ds likes that, but DD doesn't.
