We have a small kitchen and our appliances are taking up too much counter space. I am looking into getting a 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 microwave, toaster oven, air fryer combo appliance to help.
Wondering if anyone has one (GE has one, there's the Combi Wave, etc) and if they like it.
We really just need a microwave for things like chili and soup and then something to toast bread, reheat pizza/chicken nuggets/fries/etc without having to use the full size oven for everything. We have no air fryer so not really worried about the performance of that.
We had this one and it is fantastic. It’s not small, but equivalent to the size of a microwave. I never tried to heat up soup, but I’m sure you could if you had the right container to put it in. It’s large enough to take over a lot of baking needs too, which really cuts down on using the big oven.
We did get rid of it because our available counter space changed at the same time a friend needed to set up a kitchenette for a family member. Initially we loaned it to them, later they bought it from us. It didn’t make sense to keep it when we’d have it in storage and only pull it out occasionally. We are planing to do a whole kitchen renovation someday and I’d love to get another one then.

Curious to see answers - when I was researching appliances for our kitchen reno, I couldn't find a microwave combo that had consistently good reviews. And they were pricey too. I too was interested in having it all in less space/fewer applicances.
I ended up settling based on our lifestyle. We use our microwave a lot, so I didn't want to end up w/a so-so product for the sake of consolidation. So we have a separate microwave (it's on a shelf above the counter). We do have 2 ovens, you can find electric ovens that double as an air fryer/steam oven. I just went w/a decent electric oven for budget sake, and I use it like a toaster oven. We also have a 4-slice toaster on the counter.
A friend of mine just redid her kitchen. It is lovely but she does seem to have too many appliances on the counter - it looks cluttered. Which is to say, I think it's a good area to consider when kitchen planner/designing.
simpsongal, we don't use our microwave a ton, but when we do use it, we need a microwave function... ya know? Our most used item is a toaster oven because I hate using the full size oven for things like reheating. No toaster here.
I did say that if I could find a good option for microwaving and toaster oven for reheating all our food, I'd buy a cheap 2 slice toaster that can be put away in a cabinet. We'll see!
We have an older model of that breville and I don't know that I would equate it to what our microwave does unless they've added a specific function. I also am not a fan of using it as an air fryer unless you buy the liners because of the way the basket drips right onto the coils and/or the door when you open it up.
FWIW at our beach house we just have a slice toaster and a OTR microwave and do just fine. The oven gets used sparingly because we're usually there in the summer and grill 99% of our dinners. We ended up with a small air fryer, but it lives in the pantry. We managed there for 2 months in the summer during Covid.
ssmjlm, it must be different enough because there is a microwave button and this one has a rotating glass bottom like a microwave that I think is used, even with the air fryer function. The only coils seems to be on the top?
It seems like most people are disappointed with the air fryer portion, which is 100% not important to us, lol.

Old thread but anyway:)
We have a galley kitchen and I hate countertop clutter. We have a microwave (not on the counter) and a regular slice toaster that lives in a cupboard. I don't see the need for anything else. If I need to hear up something, it can be done in the microwave or toaster. Is it perfectly crispy? No but it's leftovers, I don't need or want it to be perfect, I just want it to get hot quickly.
Plus the toaster was like 15$ and the microwave less than 100$. No need to make it more complicated than that.
But to be fair I have always hated toaster ovens and I think air fryers are a dumb rebranding of convection ovens which are a standard oven feature that has existed forever. I divide all heating of food into "small job" (microwave or toaster is good enough) or "big job" (use the oven, that's what it's there for).

This is foreign to me. Besides the initial cooking of the food (solely because my 9x13 pans don't fit in my toaster oven), I never touch my standard oven. Maybe it's because my oven is 12+ years old, but it takes 10 minutes to preheat to 350 and then 5-10 to reheat two pizza slices or a chunk of salmon vs my toaster oven taking a total of 7-8 minutes from turning on to me taking a bite. My kitchen is tiny, but it would take a lot for me to get rid of my toaster oven. I use my microwave rarely but it, IMO, is one appliance I need to have available. No idea on air fryers.
