Warning: do not read if you are offended by condensed soup
I got a new church cookbook last weekend and I've made 3 dinners out of it that I thought were worth sharing. NOT haute cuisine by any stretch of the imagination, but really tasty and easy to get on the table. We could keep this thread going if people are interested in adding their own recipes
CRANBERRY CHICKEN
3-8 chicken breasts, sliced into long thirds for faster cooking 1 can whole cranberry sauce 1 (8 oz) bottle Russian salad dressing 1 package of Lipton onion soup mix (dry) Pepper to taste
Place chicken in greased baking dish. Pepper lightly. Combine cranberry sauce, salad dressing, and dry soup mix. Pour over chicken. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Serve over rice.
CHICKEN TETRAZZINI
8 oz spaghetti noodles, broken into thirds 2 cups shredded cheddar, divided 2 (16 oz) cans chunk cooked chicken 1 (2 oz) jar diced pimentos 1/4 green pepper, minced 1/2 small onion, minced 1 can cream of mushroom soup 3/4 cup chicken broth Salt and pepper to taste
Cook noodles according to package directions. Combine all ingredients, saving 1/4 cup of cheddar for topping. Pour into greased baking dish. Top with reserved cheese. Cover. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
MEAT & GRAVY
1 round steak OR 4 pork chops 1 package of Lipton onion soup mix (dry) 1 can of golden mushroom condensed soup 1 soup can of water
Place meat in a baking dish. Sprinkle with dry soup mix. Add soup and water. Cover. Bake at 300° for 2 hours. Serve with mashed potatoes.
