I usually just stock up on the boring stuff I run out of during the year -- the eyeliner I use every day, Clarisonic brushes, refill for my shower filter...
I think I'll be just about out of foundation at that point and I don't love the one I'm currently using, so I think I'm going to take the Armani Luminous Silk plunge. Does anyone who has tried it have rants/raves?

What have you been using before?
I have the Armani and really like. It's a great finish - and some of the best lasting ability (at least on my face). To me it feels like it has primer (silicone) built in. Very nice.
I also highly recommend dolce & gabbana foundation. The one that comes in a pot (which I avoid, usually because that means its super moisturizing or something, but really, its a great finish).
Personally, I'm all for asking for samples from counters for these. I feel like wear is so individual.

I used to use (and loved) Teint Innocence by Chanel. It was discontinued :-( So I'm now using Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua and I like how it works, but it is too runny (so I have to use more than I want to, plus it isn't great for humid days) and the bottle is ridiculously annoying to use.
I have very dry skin and want a foundation that is somewhere in the light to medium coverage range.
I've been resisting Naked 2 so I was thinking that. But now I want the Vice palette as well. Trying not to spend too much. If I ask my mom for one for Christmas she'd probably get it for me. Decisions...
I'm definitely getting the new YSL Touche Eclat illuminating foundation, the Tarte blush set (as a gift for my sister), the Tarte liner set, and probably the Stila liner set as well. Beyond that, I'll probably get some replacement heads for my Clarisonic and some more Clinique moisturizer.

Okay, yeah, Vita is runny and just sort of "sat" on top of my skin. Lovely finish, but didn't work for me (of course, its still in my set lol).
This is harder because your skin type is different than mine, but I'd consider trying Armani, D&G still, along with nars sheer glow. Good luck!
I need to spend $12 to hit VIB for another year. I'm thinking that's doable.
My insider sources tell me early Nov.
. How do I find out how much more I need to spend? I show 440 points in my bank but can't remember if there is carry-over... do I need to count up all my purchases for the year? I want VIB status!
Last year the November F&F was a code anyone (I think) could use on as many purchases as they liked within the stated window. There was a second VIB sale in January/February that had a unique code that (again, I think) could only be used once.

They can tell you in store, but I don't think you can tell online. Unless you add up your purchases for the year.
I got VIB again with my purchase a couple weeks ago, so I'm good through 2013. I swear I haven't spent $350 since Jan 1, but I'm not complaining I'll have to look & add my shit up.
Is F&F 20% on one item only? Is it only for the VIBs or any with he frequent shopper cards?
In France, F& F is for as many items as you want. I think you can use the code multiple times, but I need to double check.
They had a thing in the spring where you got a certain % discount if you hit different price points, so 30 Euros= 10% off, 50 Euros= 15% off and 75 Euros= 20% off total purchase. Plus you always get 10% off one item after every four individual purchases (no matter the dollar amount) you make.
There's no item you can trade points for, though. And I don't know yet if they have a birthday gift (I haven't had a b-day yet this year).

I used to use the Teint Innocence as well. I was then using the Givenchy. Try the YSL Touche Eclat. Seriously, I'm in love.
