For about the last week Jelly Bean has been waking up at 1am (just when I'm getting into bed - go figure) and screaming her head off. She is clearly screaming for me. It's always "One Mama! One Mama!" We have a video monitor so I'll watch her on there for a bit and she is sitting straight up. If I go into her room she is fully aware that it is me. She calms down immediately and lays her head back down.
So I thought with night terrors you couldn't really comfort them because they aren't totally conscious. Is that right? And if so, I guess this isn't a night terror because she is very much awake. When she sees me she'll say "One Mama rub my back" and then lay down. The change is instantaneous. If K goes in there, it's the same thing but it might take a moment longer as she asks where I am first.
Agreed that it isn't. Night terrors, the kids (adults) are still asleep though their eyes are open, so they don't see you/respond to you since they aren't awake.
hopefully, it is just one of those things that she will stop doing on her own. Any changes that might have thrown her schedule?

Yep, I'm with the other ladies, this is not a night terror. E had them and like TMM's C, it was incredibly difficult to comfort her.
I'd also wonder if something has changed in her schedule and/or napping. You might try putting her to bed just a bit earlier to see if that helps alleviate things.
Thanks ladies. I didn't think it was a night terror because she clearly is aware of what is happening. It's just really odd. I'm guessing the difference is that I have classes on Tues/Wed nights now, so K picks her up from daycare and puts her to bed. She doesn't see me at all those evenings so maybe it's just her freaking out that I'm not around.
