Luggage Capacity?

This may be a long shot; but does anyone have any experience with Ford Mondeo's? We have a rental and it says it fits 4 adults and 3 suitcases. I'm slightly nervous we're going to be squeezed in with 4 adults, 4 suitcases and carryons.

It's probably going to be tight, but I think when they say suitcases they mean full sized suitcases that you would have to check, and not the smaller carry on cases.

To give you something to compare it to, our Irish rental car was a Nissan Micra, which fell into this category - www.dan-dooley.ie/view_details.php?id=11, it says 4 people and two pieces of luggage. There were just two of us, and we had one big shared suitcase, two roll-aboard carry-ons, and two large messanger bags as personal items. We were able to fit everything, but I'm pretty sure when traveling between cities our messenger bags were in the back seat.
