Friday met L and the kids for dinner and L was home all weekend (which proved to be both good and bad.)
Saturday Carter woke up (and hence woke me up) at 5:20am. Grrr. We got the kids to their soccer game, went to lunch, dropped L off at her hair appt while I took the kids to the mall to get a game that Grayson had saved for and to the bookstore, went to Target (where L got into a verbal altercation with some a-hole that was screaming profanity at his kid), and then home for movie night and an early bedtime for everyone.
Sunday the kids were nice enough to let me sleep till 7. Got in a tiff with L, went to see Hotel Transylvania, met up with my dad who was driving through en route from Maine to Georgia and took the kids to the toy store, back to the house to hang out, and to PF Changs for dinner. Thankfully the visit with my dad was short and sweet and not too painful.
The rainy friday night commute was insanity, so when i finally got home I was happy to hand the baby off to DW, change my clothes, and head out the door for dinner/drinks with friends.
Saturday morning DW took the girls to dance class and I took Sprout to see Finding Nemo which was a lot of fun in 3D! The ocean scenes were really beautiful. And I was happy to be reminded that almost 100% of the language in that movie is kid-safe. Home for lunch and rest time. Except, rest time was a total bust (the girls kept playing the "i have to go potty" game) so we packed it up and went to the children's museum and grabbed food-truck dinner at an irish festival. It was a nice evening except for Rosebud throwing a terrible fit. Usually she gets over her tantrums quickly but she just lost her ever-loving mind. Ahhh, yes, we are approaching 3. My favorite age. (did you notice the sarcasm font used there?)
Sunday morning DW went into work and I brought the kids to Church. Home for lunch and rest (this time, successful). Then we met up with DW at an apple orchard for picking and an attempt at some pictures. DW was clearly not in the mood to help me and I only got 1 or 2 good shots. boo. So then it was off to meet up with my parents at a nature center. Checked out some animals, learned about habitats, and went on a hike. Grabbed dinner at a random pizza restaurant that my dad had a groupon for. DW took the kids home and put them to bed and I headed into the office. Worked far too late, went grocery shopping at a rediculous hour (our local stop and shop is 24/7), and I'm off to grab my 3rd coffee of the day... Who has time for sleep?
We went out to PA for a sort of mini getaway. We actually went to the Celtic Classic, but unfortunately didn't end up running in to Meegs. But we did enjoy ourselves heard a lot of good music and saw dancing and ate way too much. We stayed at a hotel out there. Sunday morning the weather was gorgeous and we went to a local park to go jogging, then to a hokey cave tour, then stopped at a cider mill and farm stand on the way home. Apple cider, apple cider donuts, and apple pie were all part of the day. The only bad thing was it had to end!
Fridays plans were all done when Annie fell asleep at 5pm. She slept until after 9 on Saturday. she has had a cold for over a week and I think she just wore herself down to nothing.
Saturday morning was Puptoberfest. It is a fair put on by the rescue organization we got all of our dogs from. Marley was loving life - she loves other dogs. Toby not so much, I ended up carrying him through most of it so he wouldn't pick fights.
Then Saturday evening Carols mom had a party for everyone who helped her with her house after the flooding from the hurricane last year.
Sunday was spent working on the house and grocery shopping.
Then to finish up the weekend Marley jumped our fence last night chasing a deer in our yard. She was on the run for an hour and a half before coming back at 2:30 in the morning.

Friday E and I had a chill night at home with dinner and a kids movie on Netflix.
Saturday I spent the morning doing laundry and chores and took E to get an outfit for her school pics this week. We made pot roast in the crockpot and rice krispie treats and squeezed in a little scooter time as the sun set. A came over that evening and we struggled with the origami she'd been given from someone from South Korea (no english directions) before getting E to bed. A and I were up late chatting and making plans for her friend visiting this coming weekend.
Sunday we went to a favorite local bakery for brunch and then headed into the city. We saw The Cat in the Hat at the children's theatre. It was a great show and E got all the actors to sign her program afterwards. Then we headed out into the gorgeous fall weather at the park area near the theater. E played in the water at a fountain pool until she was cold. We grabbed dinner at a nearby pizza place and headed home for a school night bedtime.
We went into Boston on Saturday to do the Aquarium (we have a membership). We strolled along the greenway for food-truck lunch and looked quickly at the vendors at the market there. We really couldn't browse much with a tired toddler in tow, but I did manage to pick up my first Xmas gift for a friend and a necklace for myself.
Saturday night I slept at my parents to get a break from night-time duty with my teething toddler. It was nice to sleep through the night.
Sunday afternoon we went to the mall as a time-killler to let Henry run in the play place and ride the quarter rides.
We had fun in the city, but it was a tough weekend. I had been feeling so much better for weeks, but lately I've really sunken back down, and it's hard. It was so good to feel better for a while - I want it back!
Friday evening my mom met us for a walk and then Jen took the babies home and I went out for dinner with my parents. On Saturday I mowed the lawn and did a quick grocery run, and Jen dropped off donations at Goodwill. We had a low-key evening. I made fajitas for dinner.
On Sunday morning we managed to watch the last four episodes of this season's Louie - that show is so good. The babies didn't nap at all in the afternoon so we played in the nursery, laid under the tree in the backyard, etc. My parents came over in the early evening and we hung out with them for a while and then they watched the babies while we went to see Looper. It was very good, and surprisingly heart-wrenching and sweet for an action/time travel movie.

C and the Kiddos all got their haircut (I had mine done earlier in the week). We ate like crap, but seemed to survive. Slept a lot less than we should have. C worked at the old house yesterday, while I did the kitchen and laundry and the Kiddos watched MORE THAN two episodes of Caillou...they were happy.
