dude I could tell from the look on his face in the church and I was PISSED.
I think she legitimately loved him, but his own self esteem was in the crapper and he didn't want happiness for himself.
I feel like the money storyline got tied up very neat and tidy. It does show Matthew's loyalty to downton and to the Crawleys but still kind of a dumb storyline.
I don't care about the prostitute, I'm assuming she wants to give her son up so he can have a better life ?
do you think Mrs Hughes and Mr. Carson are going to hook up?
dude I could tell from the look on his face in the church and I was PISSED. Me too. I kept thinging that he didn't have the look of someone about to get married. It should have been the happiest day of his life.
I think she legitimately loved him, but his own self esteem was in the crapper and he didn't want happiness for himself. I think he loved her too, but there was too much self-pity happening. And her family wasn't happy about the marriage.

I don't care about the prostitute, I'm assuming she wants to give her son up so he can have a better life ? I am not vested in her either. Probably because she's never been one of the main people on the show.
do you think Mrs Hughes and Mr. Carson are going to hook up? No, but I think they genuinely care about each other. I can see him taking care of her if something were to happen to her.
And why wasn't Cora's mom at the wedding? Was she really only there for the first 2 episodes. Boo. I really liked her on the show. I thought she brought some real spunk.
I felt so, so bad for Edith last night. She's my least favorite Crawley sister, yet I totally got choked up when she was jilted at the altar. Do you think she might commit suicide?
Love the possible romance between Mrs. Hughes and Carson!
I wish we could see more of Sybil and Tom, but according to next week's teaser, it looks like something really dramatic happens!

SON OF A BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH! I haven't watched it yet and I was so pulling for Edith. Hopefully someone better comes along or her family stops shitting on her or something. Ugh.
I felt so bad for Edith, I felt sure the wedding wasn't going to happen but thought he was going to die (heart attach or something) not that he'd leave her at the altar. The end where Anna offers to get her a tray and she says spinsters get up for breakfast was so sad, you could see her accepting a lifetime of being the spinster daughter/sister and dreading it.
Definitely looking forward to next week can't wait to see what's going on with Tom and Sybil, the Irish situation should be heating up so I wonder if it's related to that.
Oh and did anyone else think mrs. Hughes lied to Mrs. Pottmore and she does have cancer?
If you download the program from expatshield, it allows you to watch UK programs. It assigns you a UK IP address, so the web thinks you are in the UK. Then go to ITV.com, click on the ITV player, and you should be able to find the first 3 episodes there.
I'm just pissed that it took Matthew so long to actually decide to give up the money. Isn't he still the heir to Downton? Shouldn't he care about keeping it in the family? Even after he decided to do it I can't forgive him for being stupid. The dude was dead and so were every single person he wanted to give his money to before you. Just suck it up and take it. He is bad at inheriting things.
I feel bad for Edith but I think she's cut out for something more than to just marry a gentleman. She just needs to figure out what it is.
