Scored 84% with an average error of 42 miles... and I feel like a dummy but I was halfway through the game before I realized that it identified the state to be placed on the map so I was trying to go by memory on state shapes for awhile there.

I'm going to look to see if there are similar games for other places. I have a feeling I'd be about 50% with Africa, for instance.
With the US, I'm pretty darn good. I've placed a few times and haven't gotten lower than 92% with 14 miles (which included and accidental drop of DE), and the best at 98% and 4 miles. I loved my wooden US map puzzle as a kid
Let's see how I do. I'm pretty good with some of them, so I'm guessing it will just depend on luck of the order I get them in. If it's all the western African small countries first, I'm screwed.
Edit: They make it easier on you than just the whole continent. It's done in sections. So, I did way better than expected. 87% and 71 miles. I'm such a dork that I think this is really fun.
It's actually not as bad as I expected since they're pretty generous with where you drop the tiny countries like all the broken Serbian bits, plus they have such specific borders, unlike dealing with Utah, Wyoming, and CO. I messed up a bit with the little places like Luxenbourg and San Marino.
I got 90% on the US, and then I did Europe and got a 74%. Some of those tiny European countries were crazy hard because I couldn't see the little dot that's wasn't filled in. Either way, my H did it and was pissed that I did better than him on the US map, but that's because he put Delaware up by Maine.
