I bought a lily this year and planted it in a pot on my deck. It was already blooming. It looked amazing for about a week. Now all the flowers are gone. It's done for the summer isn't it?
The greenery looks good and healthy. Just no blooms are anything.
Also, how do I keep this in the fall so I can have them again? I'm assuming they were originally bulbs. (I don't know because I bought it already blooming from a store.)
Keep watering as long as the foliage stays green. When it has all died back (it's going to look ratty for a while) you can plant the bulb. This will probably be Sept. -Oct.
Ditto dirtyred. Keep them watered and they will be just fine. Lilies multiply quickly, so when you plant them, you may notice some tiny bublets attached to the stem or the bulb. Plant those as well. You can also add a little bone meal to the planting hole to help feed the bulbs.
