When I was cooking rice, some oil spattered out of the pain and onto my (barefoot) foot. From what I can tell, it's a firat degree burn. There is just some redness and it hurts a lot. I just called H to ask him to get some gauze to wrap it up. Other than that there doesnt seem like much I can do. But the mayo clinic says that if the burn on your feet or face it should be considered "serious"and requires medical attention. I dont want to go to the ER if I dont need to. It doesnt seem like there is much that can be done for a 1st degree burn.
To me that doesn't sound ER worthy.I burned my hand on boiling hot sweet and sour sauce and the skin immediately blistered and peeled off. I went to the ER for that.
No its not blistering yet it just hurts. I didnt think I needed to go to the ER I was just checking because the website I read says it should be considered "serious" if it is on the feet or hands. But Im with RBP, a burn on the face sounds much worse than the feet.
Treat a first-degree burn as a minor burn unless it involves substantial portions of the hands, feet, face, groin or buttocks, or a major joint, which requires emergency medical attention
I think this means go to the ER if your whole foot is burned.
I got a second degree burn on the palm of my hand last year (from dry ice, LOL). It hurt like fuck, but it never occurred to me to go to the ER. I just let H drain the blister with a sterile needle.
Burns to the bottoms of feet are very difficult to heal and can cause permanent damage that can, in the worst case, affect mobility. Your burn should be treated and closely monitored. If you find yourself limping, get to a doctor.
Thanks for all the imput! I think Ill be fine. I just had H cover it and I took some advil and I feel fine now. It still hurts but not as badly as before.
If it does start to blister, or isn't healing well, just go to your primary care doc.
This. If the redness is prolonged, see your primary doctor. My grandmother spilled/dropped potatoes she had been boiling on her foot several years ago and it ended up getting a mild infection.
