Anyone know off hand if you have to have all your policies with the same place for the umbrella to work?
For a specific example: it looks like we won't be going with state farm for our boat (better coverage for a lot less from a boat-specific place). But will that affect our umbrella?
Yeah, I could call. Or read my policy. But I'm lazy and thinking about it right now.
We already have the umbrella. We'll be adding the boat to the rest of the policies.
This is also partially me make H step up and do some of the crap I normally take care of. His boat, his baby. So he is the one calling for quotes and making choices. Normally I handle all this type stuff and I want to make sure he covers it without being a pest.

Our umbrella is not the same company as some of our other policies. The insurance company that provides us the umbrella policy just charges us $20/year extra for not having all policies under one company.
