Does anyone have a robotic vacuum that's not a Roomba? Ours has officially died. I hate that the typical life span of a Roomba is 2-3 years, especially since they're so spendy.
My MIL got us the "Mint" because she knows how I hate doing housework. I don't know how much they cost, but I think it's maybe only for hard floors, not carpets. It works ok, not amazing, but decently to help prevent the massive kitteh fur tumbleweeds.
me me me!!!! I LOVE the neato. we have a Roomba too and the Neato does a much much better job, especially transitioning from carpet to hardwood. I wish we could afford another one for our upstairs!

What's the life span on the neato been like? I looked at it yesterday and it seems like a good alternative, but still spendy.
I'm mostly using it on hardwoods and a low (short?) pile berber type rug. Do you think it'll be able to get into those shorter fibers?
This one just does hardwoods, right? I got excited about this because i saw a commercial for it on tv and I thought it did both hardwoods and vacuumed, but maybe the models I looked at wasnt the right one.
UW, We got it for our wedding (Sept 2011) and so far it's been great. Obviously it's only been a little over a year, but we run it 3-6 times per week on our entire downstairs, and no issues. I do think it will be able to get into low pile carpet. We have pretty cheap shitty carpet (can't wait to replace it!) and we are always amazed at how much stuff it picks up
