When do you think it is no longer appropriate for kids to walk around the house in just their underwear and a shirt? DD1 is 5 and she loves taking her pants off and just wearing her undies and whatever shirt she has on that day. I don't have a problem with it as long as the front door is closed and she's not hanging out in the windows (we have sheers on the windows so you can't see in much anyway), and as long as we don't have company.
I'm wondering if she's too old to be doing this though? I don't want her to feel negatively towards her body and it's not like she's walking around naked, although she does like an occasional streak after a bath. What are your thoughts?
I guess I'm in the train of thought that our house is our comfy zone and we do what feels comfy. My DD has always been a little more reserved, so she doesn't lounge in anything but clothes or pjs. My DS, on the other hand, looovvveeees, being naked or near naked, so he's usually in his underwear after bathtub or around bed time and then in the morning. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as it's just us at home. Oh, and he's 8 for the record.
I don't see a problem with this at all. I don't have kids though, and I usually take my pants off right after my shoes as soon as I get home from work, so take that as you will.
I still walk around in my undies at times. I dont think there is a specail number. When she feels uncomfortable she will stop. If she doesnt good for her!
